Bio

Come to a discruña gig and along with our melodic/indie/rock music, you'll be treated to corny jokes between songs, light up Gummie Bears, flying bubbles, and the occasional free candy.

Our sound is best described as if someone put the Beatles, A Perfect Circle, Metallica, Kiss, the Cranberries & Andrew Lloyd Webber into a blender and fused them with the personalities of five wacky kids from Laredo. What you get is discruña.

The band is made up of Vocalist, Guitarist, Lyricist, and Drummer Joe Molina, who is left handed but plays guitar right handed---Rhythm and Lead Guitarist Mario Mata Jr., who is right handed but plays guitar left handed---Guitarist and Drummer Joey Arambula, who is our drummer but doesn't even own a drum set--Keyboardist and Vocalist Christine Rojas, who can also shred on bass if needed, &-Bassist Jessy Soliz, who'll melt your face on clarinet when she isn't rocking the bass.

We have been a unit since June 2009 and as of November 02, 2010, we posses a rotating set list of nineteen original songs and are constantly creating new music. Though our hometown is a border city predominantly made up of screamo and tejano bands, we have been able to perform at a variety of venues such as cafes, our local university, Hot Topic, house parties, and even a country bar.

We've also given our time and music to charity and some of the events we've performed at are:

March 6, 2010--Linos Music Festival for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital--an event which raised money for St. Judes.

March 25, 2010--Texas A&M International University Stomp the Stigma--an event which encouraged students to seek counseling and get over the stigma that is associated with admitting they need help coping with life's darker days.

October 2, 2010--Pink To Do Breast Cancer Awareness--this event raised funds and awareness for Breast Cancer and we provided the soundtrack.

We do not play to make a buck, but instead play to make a difference even if we only make somebody smile because of our light up Gummie Bears.
