Bio

Disjoint is:

Tim: from Glenwood, AR. He starting playing music in fifth grade as a snare drummer. This interest continued to grow throughout the remainder of his school years as he annoyed his classmates by tapping out rhythms on his desk. However, he didn’t seriously pick up an instrument again until age 18 when he formed his first band. That band quickly crumbled, but it did light a passionate fire in Tim for music that continues to burn stronger every day. The next band, Spyral of Sorrow, would go down roads facing problems of short-term jail sentences and personality conflicts. Although, the band stayed together for five years, they eventually broke up. An unsure future lay ahead of Tim when an old friend, bass player of Disjoint, Grant Long, called looking for a friendly voice. Within a short time, Tim joined Disjoint. He has never had more unity with his band members or been more musically satisfied with his career.

Matthew: from Bismarck, AR, started music at the age of 12. He played bass instruments for six years and was a drum major his senior year. In 1997, he was selected to play in the AR Governor’s School of Symphony and also the AR Youth Symphony Orchestra. After high school, he went to college as a music major but gave that up to put more time into his drums and organizing a band. He’s been playing drums for nearly 5 years and has been in Disjoint since 2000. Matt is one of two of the founding members of Disjoint.

Richard: from Mt. Pine, AR, Richard started playing music in the fifth grade as a trumpet player. He starting playing guitar at age 15. Disjoint is his first band. He joined the band, when life-long friend, Grant Long, told him that Disjoint was looking for another guitarist. Richard’s style fit right in and complimented Disjoint’s music. Richard has now been in the band since 2003.

Wyatt: from Hot Springs, AR, starting playing music when he was 10. After taking a few piano lessons, banging on the drums, and playing the English flute, he then realized he wanted to do more with his music. He got more serious with music at about the age of 18. He jammed with a friend for about a year, until Matthew Burton started jamming with them and Disjoint soon became more serious. After going through 3 vocalists, 2 bassists, and 2 guitarists, Disjoint finally has only serious musicians and the best line-up possible. Wyatt is the other founding member of Disjoint. This is the only band he has ever been in, and he wants to keep it that
way.

Grant: from Mt. Pine, AR, has been playing music for 6 years and playing bass for Disjoint since 2001. He played guitar for 4 years until he asked Disjoint if they needed another guitarist, but Disjoint needed a bassist. So, he bought a bass because of his love for music and to be a part of Disjoint. Grant has picked up the bass and caught on faster than anyone who’s ever played a bass.

Tony: from Glenwood, AR, starting playing bass in April 1999 when his older brother Tim needed a bass player for his then band Spyral of Sorrow. After a few months on the bass he began playing the guitar as well. Tony then left Spyral of Sorrow in Oct 2002 because of personality differences. He then took 2 semesters of violin lessons and joined Disjoint in Nov 2003.
