DIV or Diverse In Verse, was formed in 2003. Our brand of hip-hop is not gangsta or conscious, but rather a crossroads of these extremes making for a sensible blend of rap for all music lovers to enjoy. In 2003 we recorded our first mixtape, DIV Volume 1, on a karaoke machine and sold enough copies to upgrade to an eight track recorder. We recorded Volumes 2 and 3 in 2004 and 2005 and have kept growing our studio with the addition of beat machines, keyboards and Pro Tools. With the impending arrival of our first album, Leaders of the New School, we are stretching to reach a wider audience and make successful artistic music. We are a new vanguard, a new standard and a new beginning for hip hop. With lyrics that range from playful to painful, and beats that induce themes from parties to politics, DIV has a musical range that is unmatched in the hip-hop industry.
