Divine Attraction

DA started in 2008 with a couple of guys who shared a passion for music and wanting to encourage people by telling of how their lives had changed for the better. They quickly started writing, recording songs and began their journey as a band. “From the very beginning we all knew that we wanted DA to be much more than just a band, but had no idea what that would look like”. So they kept doing what they were doing, which was playing anything they could get and enjoying creating music together. The band went through multiple changes as musicians came and went, but somehow DA was always alive. “There were a lot of times when it seemed like it was getting too difficult to keep going on, but there was always something inside that kept us together.”
Through the involvement with local churches, they began to see how DA was also a platform to encourage and help people. They soon were seeing how DA could be more than just a band. As years passed, they have had various opportunities come their way to further the band. With offers of signing with record label and contracts, they were unsure if that path was where they wanted DA to go. They were encouraged by many to believe for big things and something that only God can do. In the Winter of 2011, they were presented with a strange and unordinary opportunity.
What started as a message on Facebook led to traveling to the Czech Republic to headline the Spring ’12 EXIT Tour through Josiah Venture. They were invited to work with local churches, visit high schools, and put on full production concerts where the love of God was shared in a relevant way. Week after week, they were able to use their passion of music to encounter thousands of students in a country that is known to be less than 1% Christianity. “What we found to our surprise, were students not all the different than us. We found a genuine honesty within these Czech students as we had dozens of opportunities to share our lives and hear of theirs.” It was clear that God had called them out to be a part of what He is doing in Czech Republic as many hearts were changed, and even their own lives were being shifted. Every day they were filled with so much purpose, and began to gain a passion for reaching the youth in the Czech Republic.
An opportunity came from Josiah Venture briefly after the return back to California. This time it was to serve for a minimum of two years with the EXIT team in Czech Republic and tour to various cities for the greater part of the year. It was predicted that in two years’ time, a significant amount of the country’s youth could be reached for Christ and connected with the local church. Seeing that this was a huge life changing opportunity, DA had taken a number of months to pray about this decision. They have come to a decision that DA will be pursuing this opportunity as it has been their desire from the beginning to be about something much bigger than music, and now it’s time to step out.
