Divine Rootz

BandHip Hop

The main goal of our ministry is to use our gifts and talents, that God has so graciously given us, as a vehicle to impact as many lives as possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Divine Rootz consists of 3 emcees: David Blade, Sam Simeon & Vyze Vision. The group name was inspired by Jeremiah 17:7-8, "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." David, Sam & Vyze come from many different walks of life with similar backgrounds and all grew up listening to hip-hop.

David, Sam & Vyze all attend the same non-denominational Christ-centered church called House of Mercy in West Palm Beach, Florida and serve under Pastor Tim Bumgardener. They believe that it’s very important to get involved in a local church that preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. It is even more important to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, and studying scripture. As they grow in Christ they realize it’s not about them but about glorifying God in everything they do, committing their work to the Lord. Why not glorify Christ through hip-hop music?

Divine Rootz use the gifts and talents that God has so graciously given them to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ with life experiences over beats and rhymes through this relevant form of expression called hip-hop. The debut album entitled, “Destroy & Rebuild” with productions from Tony Stone, Teddy P., G-Styles, David Blade of Spark Fire Productions and many more, encourages both believers and unbelievers to kill (destroy) the plague of sin in their lives and allow our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ to transform (rebuild) them with a renewed mind. The official release date is TBA.
