Discography

UnCommon's first song on the radio was "The Lord Has His Hands on Me" (every Mother's new "favorite song") Currently, in regular rotation is "Reason 2 Smile" with Brothatone. It continues to be played heavily over the airwaves. "The Greatest Story" has also recently been added to multiple radio stations, as they and their listeners eagerly await the highly anticipated release of "Search Myself" (aka - "The 38 pairs of shoes" song)! UnCommon also co-wrote along with his brother & dear friend Midnyte Sun, the theme song for the Damon King morning show formerly on "The New Rejoice 880". He also co-wrote the theme Midnyte Sun for "Unleashed Generation", a youthful, urban and holy hip hop show that was grass-rooted by UnCommon and co-host/partner Heather D. after the station noticed the outstanding work that these two were leading the Divorsin The Streetz team in concerning community involvement and efforts to resucsitate positivity back into our young people.

Bio

Donte' M. Lee (now Bond) was born on March 20, 1976 to Patricia D. Lee and Silas King. During his early years Donte', along with his younger brother "James Bond", was raised in a single-parent home by his mother who loved the Lord. Without much money in the home, Donte' – who had already inherited a horrible temper from his father – developed a relationship with "The Streetz" through gang life, selling drugs, smoking, drinking, and sex. This "street life" (a.k.a. death) lead to multiple trips to jail. This is where the devil would have loved to keep this young man, BUT GOD.......!

Though, being raised in a Christian home by his Mom and Dad (Pastor Scott "Pop" Bond), during the summer of 1996, Donte’ was once again imprisoned after having recently been released from incarceration just 5 months prior. With this incarceration he faced 17 years to Life, but vowed to live for Jesus from that day forward if God would get him out of his situation. God did, and Donte' only got 3 years in jail. Soon after that, Donte’ was reborn and his name was changed to "UnCommon" – a name derived by God from Acts 10:15 ("Call thou not common what I've cleansed").

From that moment forward, he began ministering through music behind bars. Donte’, a.k.a. “UnCommon” (UC), has worked with a number of great artists over the years. He's shared the same stage with individuals ranging from Brent Jones/T.P. Mob and Tonex' to Stellar Award Winner's Jessica Greene and 21:03. UnCommon has joined the list of Music City Gospel Award winners by taking home awards in two (2) catergories in 2009 (Urban Gospel Artist of the Year & Holy Hip Hop Artist of the Year). He's also worked with the famous Jon Tiven, who wrote for The Rolling Stones and produced for B.B. King, Syl Johnson (father of Syleena Johnson), Wilson Pickett, and Little Milton. God has blessed this young man with a vast variety of musical abilities including Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, Blues, Funk, Traditional Gospel, Contemporary, and/ or R & P Christian. This will be evident to the world that remains to hear UnCommon on the upcoming album "I Am U".

If your church or venue is ready for truth from soul to soul, this man of God is truly a Godsend for all ages.
