"Evident Talent"

"...evident talent." - Music Monthly, The Observer, UK, March 2004

"Best of New Orleans Jazz Fest"

"...at the [New Orleans Jazz Fest] Fais Do-Do stage...a bashful, 13-year-old Kyle Huval took the stage. The audience barely glimpsed the youngster's face from beneath a baseball cap, but everyone was whooping and heel-kicking by the end of his rocking execution of 'Chere ici, chere la-bas'."
- Gambit Weekly, May 2004

Discography

Watch for our first CD:"Le poteau de coin" coming out soon! Engineered and mastered by Scott Ardoin at Overdub Studios, August 2007.

Guest musicians include Brazos Huval, Kevin Dugas, and Courtney Granger (care of Rounder Records).

This CD is guaranteed to get you moving and will soon be worn to a paper-thin wafer.

Going beyond the traditional Cajun two-steps and waltzes, we add reels and marches, some country one-steps, and a few suprizes.

Bio

Our name, the Dixie Club Ramblers, is an homage to the Dixie Club near Eunice, La that was owned by Kyle's great grandparents and was frequented by Brandon's grandfather. In an effort to preserve the essence and originality of traditional Cajun music from the last century, our music sticks to a more traditional theme by adding twin fiddles and acoustic rhythm guitar.

We aim to please! Our old style, back-porch music has down-to-earth Cajun roots, with influences from the Balfa Brothers, Marc Savoy, Nathan Abshire, and Austin Pitre. Contributions from our French Canadian, Appalachian Mountains, and European heritage make our music a melting pot, like the great Louisiana culture.

We can play in many different combinations - from small intimate and acoustic to stage shows with whole band plugged in and adding a few special guests and suprizes.

We especially love to play for dancers and can teach cajun-style two-step and waltzing for those interested. We also have a wide-ranging knowledge of the music and it's background, and can do cultural and instrumental workshops and presentations.
