"popbang! Radio Single of the Week"

Dixon "Mary's Got Someone New" Self proclaimed "metal for the NPR set", think the melodic hooks of Weezer, the pop-snese of Adventures of Jet, and the rock of Redd Kross. Yeah, I know that is some high quality standards to live up to, but Dixon delivers the brand new goods with amazing results. You can say your heard them here first, but it certainly wont be the last place you hear them. Easily in contention for best new band of 2008! - popbang! radio

"Interview in LES$ Magazine"

-How was the live at Pianos? We had a lot of fun. I appreciate every opportunity I have to play music with those guys. It is a great place to play and see bands.

-How long have you guys been playing together? About a year altogether, although with a lot of starts and stops. The current lineup has only been together about 7 months.

-What is the specialty of "Dixon"? Melody. We keep being told that our songs are lodged in people's brains (sometimes to the point of being annoying!). We apologize in advance, but better our songs than the Subway "Five Dollar Foot Long" jingle, right? - Les$ Magazine

To be released Summer '12. SIngles from the album can be heard on the band's site, myspace, and facebook pages.

DIXON is a five-piece powerpop indie rock band from New York. The band is the brainchild of Richardson Taft Reigart, a songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. DIXON combines the quirky sense of humor and pop sensibilities of Weezer and Fountains of Wayne with a sense of rock n’roll showmanship inspired by bands like Cheap Trick and the Darkness. DIXON’s music employs sing-a-long choruses, clap-a-long breakdowns, dueling guitar solos, analog synths, dramatic dynamic shifts, triumphant key changes, and the kinds of hooks you can’t get out of your head with a crowbar.

DIXON was officially formed in Winter 2007. Richardson was the drummer, primary lyricist, and creative inspiration behind Bison, a now legendary noise rock/punk band in his hometown of Charleston, SC in the 90’s. After relocating to NYC, he continued playing and recording, eventually switching to guitar full-time in the band Black Beauty. After the demise of Black Beauty, Richardson began writing and recording demos of the songs that were to become DIXON. After much searching, Richardson found the rhythm section of Jeff Gensterblum (drums) and Brian Karp (bass). Richardson prevailed upon his friend, Edan Rosenberg (also of NYC band West Dakota), to play guitar, and DIXON was born.

The band is currently working with Producer/Engineer Werner F at the Boiler Room Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to complete their first album.
