Dj Memphis10

1988 was a historical year for the United States; the Redskins beat the Broncos in the super bowl, Roger Rabbit made his debut in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the first Miss America pageant aired, and last but not least, a star who would be deemed Dj Memphis10 was born. Dj Memphis10 developed a love for hip hop and r&b at an early age listening to works from Michael Jackson, Stevie wonder, Al Green and Teddy Pendergrass. Hip hop and rap became his main influence when artists like Three 6 Mafia, 8 ball & MJG, UGK, and Pimp C became prevalent in his everyday life.

After years of attending seminars, reading up on musical theories, and finding his own voice as an artist in the streets of Memphis, TN, Dj memphis10 began working independently day in and day out to achieve his dream of leaving an impact on the music industry.  He began this journey by putting out downloadable mixtapes on websites like datpiff.com and hotnewhiphop.com.  His music falls into the hip hop genre and covers topics of his personal experiences involving life in the streets, club life, and how he overcame the trials and struggles of growing up in an unstable home in deep southern poverty. He used his works and his music as an outlet from his everyday negativity and turned it into something positive. His drive and ambition demand attention and even other local independent artists such as Scat Cat (song writer and artist of the 2005 local hit single Strike a Pose) said Dj Memphis10 is extremely talented and will be the next big thing.

The Rough Draft Vol. 1 Mixtape hosted by Swailay, an independent producer from Memphis, is Dj Memphis10's very first mixtape and can be found on datpiff.com.   After months of recording and revising, it was released in early March of 2012. "Mz. Badd Azz'' was the first single, released in July, that flooded social media and received enormous amounts of positive feedback.  It became downloadable on HotNewHipHop.com and continued to grow in the peoples favor. He promotes his music independently on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, reverbnation, and YouTube.

Dj memphis10 has a vision of not only becoming an artist that everybody loves to see and listen to, but one with whom people can relate.  He knows all too well of how music can comfort or enhance any of lifes curveballs; and he wants to play a role in being that influence.  Dj Memphis10 has big plans for 2013 and is currently involved in the recording of a new mixtape that is scheduled to drop in the early part of 2013.  After checking out some of Dj Memphis10s music, keep an eye out for his shows, events, and music videos.
