DJ Ceez

A 6’7 hooper hailing from Ft. Lauderdale by way of Omaha, NE, DJ Ceez is the resident DJ for 21st Century Hip Hop and solo house music producer. Born Clarence Jones, and having studied and hooped at Creighton University and Univ Of Ill at Chicago, I've been spinning for over 20 years, everything from hip hop to deep house, from jungle to alternative. 6 months after getting my first pair of 1200s I was in the midwest DMC DJ championship battling the likes of Bad Boy Bill and Mike “Hitman” Wilson. I then started a mobile DJ service, MC Productions, with partner Mark Davis. After that, I started working at Smooth Sounds Recordings as a staff engineer and producer. There, I joined forces with DJ Nick Cam Cam to form Vibe Inc. Productions producing indie groups like S.E.L.F and Endiskize and singer Dino. From there we went on (along with Mel Hammond and Jon Bondelli), to form the rock/hip hop band Colla Destra, playing at all the major venues in Chicagoland including China Club, Metro and Shelter. In 1998, I joined The Lodge Company and was the resident DJ at 3 of their main venues, Life’s Too Short, Shennanigan’s and Mother’s Nightclub. During that time, I also hosted “DJ Ceez’ Operation Underground” show on WDGC 88.3 in Downers Grove, IL. In 2010, I started spinning live on hip hop show "The Essence" on WHPK, 88.5 FM in Chicago till October 2011. Currently I host a weekly DJ show on Gottahavehouseradio.com called "Pheromone" on Thursdays 6-8p, do guest spots on WNUR 89.3 CHICAGO indie house show "Spacious" and doing shows with my band 21st Century Hip Hop.
