"Dubstep Inspires Bassline, Bassline Influences Dubstep"

"... Although it is hardly recognized at the moment, New York dubstep will not to be left out of this shift, thanks to DJ Dore. A couple weeks ago, Dore dropped "Dark Ecology (dubstep remix)," and it deserves a place alongside Sludge at all dance music distributors. Also notable among Dore’s portfolio are "Hidden Dub" and "Snowcone." Although loopier and simpler in composition, "Hidden" is a good listen. "Snow" also has a tendency to get loopy, but builds into an expansiveness of melody (albeit less rhythmic) that surpasses the aforementioned dubs, Sludge included. All these songs are on his MySpace page.

You can catch Dore, and the rest of the Code of Arms recruits at Synctank at Bar on A this Saturday, January 10th. ..." - Culture System

Bio

DJ Dore started spinning records at age 16 while studying jazz and experimental electronic music. His ears soon found the sounds of dub reggae, jungle and drum and bass on local New York City FM radio and developed into an insatiable hunger for frenetic bass heavy musics the world over. Around the same time he developed an interest in production; first, layering sounds on a TASCAM 4-Track tape recorder and, later, stitching together loops in Soundedit 16 and learning drum programing on a Roland Groovebox. In college Dore held down a weekly internet radio show (Dual J-K Flip-Flop on freeradiosaic.org) mixing Hip-hop, Ambient, Dub, Drum & Bass and older Ragga Jungle classics. Returning to NYC in the Spring of 2006 Dore discovered the sounds of Grime & Dubstep and quickly turned his own production from Drum & Bass towards this slower and more experimental genre. DJ Dore began to draw cosiderable attention after joining forces with DJ Nebulla on a bootleg mixtape project entitle The Dirtystep Mixtape Vol. 1 featuring dirty-south accapellas over Dub inspired homegrown production. In 2007 Dore helped to launch the Stateside Dubstep label Code of Arms Records with several collaborations and solo projects published in the earliest releases on the fledgling digital label. 2008 saw Dore an ever present fixture in the NYC dubstep scene and a second volume of dirty-south dubstep mash-ups as well as the release of two vinyl singles on LA Dubstep Nostra and Code Of Arms Records. 2009 has seen agreater number of live shows from DJ Dore and releases on Seclusiasis, Filthy Digital.
