Bio
- A cultured individual, Giovanni “djgio” Spagnolo is in the midst of becoming one of the most dynamic Turntablist in Canada. This aspiration occurred at a young and fortunate time in his life. Gio formed his own distinct style of spinning that was a harmonious blend of the old and the new. His first residency at the age of seventeen behind the 1’s and 2’s took place at Scooters Roller Palace. A typical 80’s theme roller disco. There he learned the roots of Funk, Soul, HipHop, Bounce, Rhythem&Blues and House. Taking advantage of this experience and constantly growing his musical knowledge, Gio was able to make people move and spread positive vibes throughout any show he performs. Never setting limitations on his choice of music it allowed for Gio to amplify his spectrum.

Toronto “Recording Arts of Canada” is where he attended School for Audio Engineering. This was what he wanted to pursue for a career, but performing only fueled the passion. Being a versatile dj, Gio was always able to adapt to his surroundings from playing in Calabria Italy to some of the most well known Toronto venues. This allowed him to open as well as spin alongside some of Toronto’s most demanded and respected.
A true Turntablist at heart, Gio wants to stay true to the music and inspire all those who listen.
