"One of the most popular and pioneering DJs in Detroit"

For years, Detroit has been a central component of the American electronic music scene. The talent coming through the city is comparable with that of any city in the country, but what Detroit has that cannot be measured or reproduced is an amazing loyalty and pride in what it produces. Whether it's a world champion basketball team, a struggling football team, or genre defying DJs, the people of Detroit stand by their own. DJ Kalendr could draw a crowd in any city in the country, but in Detroit he'll test the capacity.

DJ Kalendr, born Jason Callender in Novi Michigan, has distinguished himself as one of Michigan's most popular and respected DJ's. With his versatile skills and wide array of trickery; he has morphed from a regular guy playing music to make his friends dance to a well-rounded artist.

He began spinning while studying at Michigan State University. In a short period of time, quick hands and a musical ear have brought him to a level of mixing that most disc jockeys can only hope for. Kalendr began working for Uptown DJ's as a part- time job during his senior year at MSU.

He soon developed a love for the art while also recognizing he had a special talent for it. It didn't take long for the advertising major turned DJ to put together a stellar resume. Most notably, Kalendr has been a part of numerous events for the Shady Records family.

He performed the official after-party for Eminem's lone concert stop in the states this past summer, a show that attracted over 65,000 people. He also spun at Obie Trice's CD release party at the State Theatre in Downtown Detroit and opened for Eminem, Obie Trice and D12 at Touchdowns Cafi in Ann Arbor.

Kalendr was the featured DJ on The Campus Life Tour 2K3. The tour was hosted by MTV's Teck Holmes and made stops at ten different campuses, ending on Spring Break at Harpoon Harry's in Panama City Beach. From there he landed a 3-day MTV video shoot for Teck $ & the Fireman in L.A.

Only 24 years old, he has opened for Memphis Bleek, D-12 and 2 Live Crew. Kalendr has also shared billing with some of today's most recognized DJ names, including DJ Skribble (MTV), DJ Green Lantern (Eminem's DJ), Salam Wreck (D12's DJ), DJ Marquis (Mix Flava Records/CH 9-5-5 Bombsquad), DJ Assault (Ass-n-Titties), DJ Godfather (Databass Rec.) & DJ Psycho (IEG) to name a few. He has held residencies at Touchdowns, Studio 4 and the Millennium Club in Ann Arbor, along with Troppo, Rick's & The Downtown in East Lansing. Other major clubs include Bleu, X/S, Envy, Saint Andrews Hall, State Theatre and Numbers After-hours in Detroit. Clutch Cargo's, Sevin and Tonic in Pontiac. Kalendr is also a member of a hot and upcoming rap group St8uvMind. The have recently released Volume 2 of their mixtape, produced by DJ Kalendr & DJ Gadget, as well as a new single entitled "How U Wanna".

This is only the beginning of what you will here from this stellar group. They currently are working in the studio on the release of their first album. Spinning everything from hip-hop to funky house, he creates a diverse energetic sound that people respond to. Smooth mixing and precise scratching and crowd control has been the foundation for his success thus far. Focus, unrelenting determination, and his instinctive understanding on how to make people move will assure even greater success in years to come. Still his philosophy on doing what he loves is quite simple "The sky is the limit. There is no plateau on how good you can get, but it is up to you to push for the goal”.
