Supreme also gives back right here in our home town of Seattle. A few years ago, on her 21st birthday, the girl we now know as Lady Coco and Supreme would meet. We’re familiar with Lady Coco from our interview a few weeks ago, but Supreme tells the story with a sweet fondness in his eyes.
It was the end of the night & she comes up to me and is like “hey I wanna learn how to DJ” so I’m like “yea yea whatever” so I said “Okay, you ready for my first lesson? Pack up all the equipment. Take it out and put it in the car. So, listen: she had her high heels, her dress on. I go to the bathroom, I go and get my money. I come back, “Where the hell is all my stuff?!” Somebody said, “Oh that girl took it out” and I’m like “are you serious...” I go out, she had it all stacked up next to my car.
She was serious. She texted him the very next day to see if he wanted to run around town together diggin’ for records. Supreme called her like, “Yo, you’re 21. So what you listen to?” When she started listing off all the Chaka Khan records, Supreme knew they were going to get along. Fast forward to today, and Lady Coco is one of the most talented young vinyl DJs in our city. - Trillogi
Reaching from the analog roots she had with cassette tapes, Lady Coco got her start DJing exclusively with vinyl. Her style, which mainly pulls from R&B and Hip Hop classics throughout the decades is very noticeably influenced by her vinyl beginnings. - Tillogi
