""The Pilot of the Mothership""

"Leko can not be simply described in terms of being a DJ. He is more akin to being...

"The Pilot of the Mothership"

taking his crowd on an audio and visual journey through the senses. Combine his passion for music and his AV technical know-how... and you've got a one-two knockout punch that will DOMINATE THE DANCE FLOOR!

Hop on, fasten your seatbelt, and enjoy the trip."

-James Callahan, Owner/GM
Club Extreme, Scandals, Coma - Club Extreme

Bio

Over 15 years of travel shows and resident DJ positions, Leko has performed live for nearly 1 million people.

2006 and 2007 saw significant success and achievement for Leko, as he switched his focus from entertaining in popular tourist destinations to producing, releasing, and spinning house, breaks, and progressive music. Upon his return to the USA in February '06, he began assembling an extensive distribution network for his imprint upstart "Tharsis Records". His first release, "Stasis", the first single from his forthcoming full-length artist album "Vantage", was put in play to test distribution channels. This release is now available globally on CD and digital download.

Leko's follow-up work included "Survive", which garnered significant attention from the leaders of the breakbeat community, including Uberzone, Hybrid, Drum Attic Twins, and Dopamine. "Survive" went almost immediately into rotation internationally on "The System" (WorldSpace Satellite Radio, XM Satellite Radio channel 82, DirecTV channel 860, and AOL Music). Leko also began recording with Nashville's Hilary Williams, pop singer and daughter of country music legend Hank Williams, Jr. Their debut collaboration, "Sign of Life", written about Hilary's near-death auto accident with sister Holly, is now slated for airplay on Alan Freed's "BPM Project" show on XM Satellite Radio channel 81 BPM.

Leko began scheduling some travel appearances to see what his marketability was outside the confines of Baltimore, including shows in San Antonio, Texas and Miami, Florida. The San Antonio show at Club NV was scheduled only two weeks in advance, and was sold out to capacity, with Leko performing a three-hour set of electro, tribal, and progressive house. Leko's performance for the Culture Thursdays party at Soho Lounge garnered the attention of executives at 107.1FM VybeRadio Miami, who invited Leko to become a resident DJ with a weekly mix show on the air.

Leko's 'Orion Spur Dance Party' immediately became Miami's most popular mix show, gaining the attention of world-famous DJ's including Deep Dish, Sasha, Bad Boy Bill, Robbie Rivera, James Zabiela, Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), DJ Chus (of Chus & Ceballos), Yousef, Chris Fortier, Uberzone, Elite Force, Aquasky, General Midi, Jen Lasher, Deepsky, Charles Feelgood, Verdugo Brothers, and Miles Dyson, all of whom have appeared as guests on Leko's show or are scheduled to appear. Leko's Miami influence led to his appearance at the Official Winter Music Conference Closing Party at the world-famous Pawn Shop with DJ Keoki, Donald Glaude, Scooter & Lavelle, Josh the Funky One, Miss Lisa, DJ Diamond, and others.

Leko's upcoming and recent projects include guest appearances on XM-80 The Move's "Hardwired" (12/9/07 & 12/13/07), New York's DigiPrana Sounds on 90.3FM New York City (3/1/07 - 2am eastern to 3am eastern) and Sirius Satellite Radio (109 - OutQ) "Saturday Night Out" overnight mix session (3/17/07 & 11/17/07 - 9pm eastern to 7am eastern) as well as headline billing at his home town Baltimore's largest music festival "StarScape" (7/9/07), a live performance at Hyperactive Music Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico (5/19/07), a live performance on DJ Keoki's float at San Francisco's world-famous LoveParade (9/29/07), residency at Baltimore's largest night club, Sonar, and main-stage headline performances at Sonar with Rabbit in the Moon, Baby Anne, Dieselboy, Donald Glaude, DJ Icey, Armand Van Helden, Bassbin Twins, Krafty Kuts, Bad Boy Bill, Simply Jeff, King Britt, Charles Feelgood, Scott Henry, East Coast Boogiemen, Evol Intent, and the Brazilian Girls.
