One of the hottest DJs in the country is also one of the youngest. He is the youngest member of the national DJ coalition, Bumsquad DJz and the youngest DJ in attendance TheMixshow Power Summit in the Bahamas in 2005. At 20 years old, DJ Mo Beatz is not old enough get into most of the clubs that he works, but has become one of the most requested DJs in the state of Michigan.
While in middle school, Mo Beatz (Chris Elliott) got the opportunity to see one of his teacher, Eric Redwine, DJ; this was the first time that Mo Beatz got the opportunity to see someone DJ live. Being very attentive while listening to mixshows on the radio, Mo Beatz learned how to mix certain songs to how to create a vibe from the right song combinations before ever touching a turntable.
Mo Beatz started DJing parties in high school and quickly became noticed by a local DJ, Big Dog Blast. Blast passed along his business card and a few records for Mo Beatz to practice with. This would lead to appearances on mix weekends on WJLB FM 98 Detroit, and the 7 Deadly Technics of WJLB becoming major influences in Mo Beatzs style. The 7 Deadly Technics taught Mo Beatz the format to play songs on the radio, how to DJ a party without wasting the newest music early, how to DJ grown and sexy parties and how to network with record reps.
Mo Beatz has worked at house parties, backyard barbeques, almost every club in Detroit, Pontiac, Ann Arbor, the grand openings of Adidas on The Strip in Vegas and Oakley Vault in Great Lakes Crossing (Auburn Hills), Express in Briarwood Mall (Ann Arbor), and internationally in Toronto during Caribana and Windsor. He can also be heard on the air on WJLB FM 98 (Detroit) and WQHH Power 96.5 with B. Jones (Lansing).
