DJ Moonpie

Svani Quintanilla, son of producer/songwriter A.B. Quintanilla III,of Kumbia Kings fame, and nephew to Selena Quintanilla-Perez, was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Growing up in a musical family made it easy for him to take a liking to music, but it wasn't until he linked up with mentor and nu-cumbia producer Dusty Oliveira (Dj Dus) that he began to produce music. At 18 years old Svani began producing hip hop beats and exploring other genres of music. A trip to SXSW in 2011 where he saw Nadastrom perform influenced Svani to make Moombahton. Bringing a latin flavor and a love for hip-hop has vaulted Svani into the local spotlight, packing club nights in Corpus Christi. Always in the studio, Svani has adopted the name Dj Moonpie and has collaborated with several local artists to produce his first EP entitled "Moonpieton."
