Discography

In stead of listing my recordings, i will describe my formation & style as a DJ.

As a DJ no night is the same, no venue is the same, no crowd is the same. I like to play for the crowd. To many DJ's play for them selfs, and that is one thing i 100% do not do.

Starting the night off i usually take it back, meaning, 90's, older top 40, some old funky music to please the staff and bar tenders. Most of the time the staff is older than the customers and are tired of hearing all the same bull shit music every night. So i like to play for them at the beginning of the night while i am warming up. This way i can connect with them on a head bopping level. If they are stocking the bar or setting up VIP with a head bop, my mission is accomplished.

After time passes and now people are starting to walk into the club, i like to start around 100 BPM. This way i can go lower and still chill. When people get into a club they like to look around, find there friends, get drinks, and talk. They do not want to be bombarded with loud party music right away, you need to warm them up first. Get the Drinks flowing.

Once people start slowly making there way to the dance floor and your starting to see the clock pass 10:45pm, thats when i will start to turn the volume up a little and pass 100 BPM's. i like to float around 105-110 till around 11:15ish and thats when the drinks are flowing the line outside the club is around the block, VIP is going crazy and for me, my night just started. I'll turn it up every so often till about 11:30-45. Then i will be wide open passing 120 BMP's and we are rocking.

By the end of the night, people are drunk and for the last 30-15 minutes i'll give the survivors what they came for, really dirty house music. House music in a main room does three really good things. One it keeps the trash out. Two it has great energy and if your drunk by the end of the night and still dancing your going to love it. Three if your not drunk and do not like house music you are walking out and the bouncers do not have to call you a thousand times to leave. So it works wonders. Keeps people out, gets people out, and lets the last standing few party hard till 2am.

This is based off a regular main room till 2am. Not all nights are the same but i generally follow the same format

My Style will again, vary night to night, venue to venue, format to format. There are nights i only play house music, other nights i play top 40, others ill play 80's, 90's and today.

However, majority of my work involves me DJing with free range and power of style and music selection. I usually get hired base on my style. I like to take you through a story and a loop of music. All genres, anytime, any how. I like to play Funk, House, Top 40, Reggae, Electro House, Hip-hop, Old School hip-hop. I am constantly moving the dance floor. Up and down, up and down. Many of the venues i DJ have between 500-2000 people coming in. This allows me to play all music and get extremely creative. Being one dimensional will only get you so far. Being able to play anything at anytime is what can make you an excellent DJ. I go by this model and pride my self in having the crowd guess at what's next, you never know which way i am going to turn.

Bio

Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Jonathan Silva has always had a passion for music since the day he was born. His career started at a young age and continues to excel throughout the years.
At the age of 14 he was exposed to his first live DJ and from that moment he knew that was exactly what he wanted to do. Within that week he got together a radio, CD player, and a belt driven turntable and began his ever growing journey. At the age of 15 Jonathan had saved up money and bought used Gemini DJ gear. After hours in the basement, he taught himself how to mix, and began understanding the importance of tempo and timing.

Within that year, Jonathan was hired at a DJ company where he would DJ all types of events. Working for this company helped build the DJ that he is today. He learned programming, how to read a crowd and their body language, setting up equipment, working with clients, formatting, and learned about all the different genres of music. This year also marked his first bar job in Northeast Philadelphia (he was only 15!). He remained at the bar for the next two and a half years then moved on to another bar located in Feasterville, PA for the next year and a half. Working at these two bars allowed Jonathan to work with all genres of music and molded him into a well rounded DJ.

In 2006, at the age of 19, Jonathan landed his first party in center city DJing along side DJ Robbie Tronco. The party was a huge success with over 700 people in attendance. This was his first taste into Philadelphia's nightlife and he wanted more. Jonathan, being goal oriented and ambitious, has achieved many things since then and continues to do so. He has DJed at some of the biggest venues in the area: Lounge 125, Pearl, Prive, Red Sky, Octo, and G lounge, to name a few. He has also ventured into AC DJing at the House of Blues and will have his debut at the Chelsea Hotel at the end of August.

Today, Jonathan is at the top of his ever-growing career. His passion for DJing and music continues to grow. With his great taste in music and the variety he brings to the dance floor, checking out one of his events is a must! You will not be dissappointed
