Bio

It all started back in the 90s when I would hang out at the skating rink as a little kid. The DJs would drop the baddest Freestlye tracks, music that was prevalent at the time, and little did I know I'd be DJing just like them in years to come. I was purely there to skate and have fun with friends, but it was here my passion for music and DJing had spawned. I remember I would come home after school and make cassette mixtapes by recording what was on the radio just so I could here my favorite jams over and over again. Around the age of 11, I attended my Aunt and Uncle's wedding. The lights, atmosphere, people dancing, great music and the DJ who was the life of the party were so inspiring to me I had decided right then and there I wanted to be a DJ.

It took 3 years, but by the age of 14, I saved up $1300 to buy my first DJ system. In that same year, I also landed my first gig. It was a Christening for some lady my grandma knew out in PA and I'll be the first to tell you I was very nervous. I had no idea what to play for these people and I had never rocked a party in my life. I couldn't even drive myself to the gig. Thank God for my mom who stepped up to the plate and helped me make this gig as good as first gigs go, I guess. Throughout the rest of my high school years, I would practice mixing in my basement and rock school events, birthday parties and other random gigs here and there. I also hosted dance parties in my basement, which was called "Club Q", where friends and classmates would come over and rock out with me until the early AM. These years gave me a solid DJing foundation and I began adopting the name "DJ Quinn".

I then attended college at Rutgers University. School remained my number one priority, while my passion for music and DJing grew to new extremes. I began DJing college events, fraternity/sorority parties/events and towards the end of college I had started working my way into bars and clubs. It was around this time I really started educating myself about music, perfecting my skills, rocking any party I could get my hands on for the experience and really started getting into the art of DJing.

I could honestly list hundreds if not thousands of people that have influenced me and helped create the style I possess today. If I had to pick two of my bigger influences, I'd say DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ AM. I'm really a big fan of "open format" DJing. Yea occasionally I might DJ a party where all they want to hear is hip hop or house music, but on average, it's not uncommon for me to try and hit every genre possible in some way shape or form.

Nowadays, you can find me DJing various events/bars/clubs in the Philadelphia, Atlantic City and South Jersey areas. I constantly strive and challenge myself to be the best at what I do. My vision is to keep dance floors moving all across the world.
