Bio

DJ Reflex “El Que Tiene El Sazon” (Felix Roman Jr.) a prominent name in the Urban Latin Industry was born and raised in Bushwick Brooklyn, NY. Growing up listening to Hip Hop, Salsa (inspired by his father), and Disco (inspired by his mother), Reflex heard his calling at a young age. At the age of 12 he received his first pair of turntables and a mixer for his birthday, which for him was the beginning of something big that was yet to come. DJ Reflex spent a lot of time releasing mix tapes and spinning at local parties for friends and family. The idea of becoming a DJ came from his mentor NYC Urban DJ Tony Touch. Tony Touch who played a big roll in showing Reflex the ropes of being a DJ began to involve Reflex in many of his performances. By the age of 15, his dedication, enthusiasm and passion for music attracted the attention of many NYC promoters who hosted parties at various venues such as Latin Quarters and so fourth. In 1996 Reflex came across a new project Tony Touch was working on called Guatauba. Reggaeton in New York what!!!! Being the first time Reflex had heard Reggaeton his ears were opened to a new type of music. In a years time Reflex went from listening to the music to actually being involved in the music. Fast forward to the winter of 1999 DJ Reflex was granted the opportunity by Executive Producer Manolo Guatauba to work on the Guatauba 2000 CD as collaborator for the album. This grand opportunity allowed him to join forces and become the exclusive DJ for Reggaeton Icons Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam.

In the Year 2000 Reflex was given the opportunity to have his own radio show on 91.9FM called Sazon Con Flavor. Reflex was the first DJ to ever have a Reggaeton show in NYC! Ratings went through the roof with Sazon Con Flavor being on the air, the music of Reggaeton began to expand in NYC and began gaining a larger audience. 1 year after being on the air DJ Reflex released the CD Entitled “Sazon Con Flavor” named after the radio show. The album consisted of hot New York Dance Remixes and introduced the Tra by Don Chezina along with A First time Reggaeton Remix of Monchy Y Alexandra’s Oja en Blanca (First time anyone ever fused Reggaeton & Bachata together). Other featured Artist were Daddy Yankee, Hector Y Tito, Mexicano, and introduced new talents to the scene like Magnate y Valentino and Angel Y Khriz. The CD sold over 80,000 copies in the first month and was rated the #1 selling Reggaeton CD in NYC at the time. DJ Reflex continued to produce albums and has been featured on over 30 compilations.

DJ Reflex spent a few years being the official DJ for Don Chezina and Las Guanabanas of Flow Music touring in the U.S. and in countries such as Spain, Europe, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, and France. In 2005 Reflex formed his own Record/production company called “Sandunga Music” in which he has been producing and working on Artist development since. His last album entitled Sandunga Music (Released by Cutting Records) featured the hit single “La Colita” Ft. Tony Touch and Willy Negron, also re-introduced now Reggaeton Icons Jowell y Randy.

DJ Reflex continues to challenge himself and evolve his career and recently, “El Que Tiene El Sazon” has begun the transition to take on the role of an Artist. Music, to him, is his culture. Performing and producing is when he is at his happiest and most creative. His highest career aspiration would be to showcase his talent successfully as both producer and performer.

This year he has been working on "The Playboy Mansion" project that will introduce him as an artist with the solo single "Prefiero Gritar". The album titled "The Playboy Mansion" features Sandunga Music recording Artists’ G Life, Monta “The Star”, GiovaNautico and a special guest appearance by D'Mingo of Corso Music.
