Why did you start DJ'ing? To have an outlet to express my creativity with music and entertain the masses while doing so.
How far do you want to take DJ'ing: I would like to go as far as opportunity blesses me. I would like to continue the path that my influences have taken and contribute to the advancement of the craft.
How did your perception of DJ'ing change after attending Scratch?: I realized that there is a stronger technical aspect to the craft than what I knew. Preparation and planning are a crucial role to the success of a DJ and the environment He/She can create can contribute to their legacy in the craft.
Who is your favorite instructor or guest instructor? All of the instructors here at the Miami Academy have taken me under their wing. DJ Hurricane has opened my mind into the art of music production, DJ K-Razor exposed me into the life and business side of the craft, and DJ Immortal, I would say has had the biggest influence on my passion for this craft. Immortal was one of the biggest influences on me taking the journey to relocate from Ohio to Miami and expanding my skill in the art-form. Immortal also blessed me with the opportunity to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil for his latest tour.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio DJ Sun of Soul (S.O.S.) embodies the heart of the Midwest, with a passion to change the DJ culture. S.O.S. surrounded himself around numerous genres of music. Ranging from classical vocal training to his thirst for involvement within the hip hop movement, Sun of Soul specializes being able to provide an environment suitable for all occasions. S.O.S. derived his identity from his upbringing in soul funk melodies intertwined with his passion for hip hop culture. After his journey thru the Columbus and Cincinnati area, SOS embarked on his current path to involve himself with the Scratch DJ Academy in Miami, Florida and to elevate his DJ and production career to new heights. Embedded in the Design District of Miami, Sun of Soul's passion can be felt to whomever he comes in contact with.
