DJ SUPERDAVE JAMES has been a leading Celebrity DJ in the Pacific Northwest for over 10 years, grossing over 1 Million Dollars in Sales and Touring revenue as a DJ Entertainer. He began spinning records professionally then and has become a Seattle Family Oriented DJ mainstay in the Youth market since 1996. SUPERDAVE first entered the DJ scene as a Turntable DJ, Mixing House, Dance, Pop, R&B and Hip Hop music.
As a native from New Jersey being raised in the Tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, he was influenced and inspired by New York radio stations such as WKTU, WBLS, WRKS- KISS and East Coast DJ personalities; Frankie Crocker, Tony Humphries, Chuck Chillout, Red Alert, Grandmaster Flash and the one and only Mr. Magic.
SUPERDAVE’S first DJ gig was a pool party in New Jersey, in his Parents backyard. He reminisces, stating, “From the first time I discovered the art of moving butts and that I can make people dance is when I got hooked and with a deep-down-to-earth connection with people I meet, I enjoy making people feel cared for in a profound way.”
After graduating from North Carolina A&T State University with a B.A. Degree in Broadcasting and Communications, SUPERDAVE was led to move from the East Coast to the City of Rain, Seattle. Bringing his aggressive East Coast style into a laid back market, he dramatically& instantly attracted attention state- wide and word of mouth spread like wild fire creating a DJ phenomenon like none other based out of Seattle.
The Northwest journey began as SUPERDAVE arrived into Seattle; being approached to be the DJ for a Hip Hop Rap Group called Power From On High. By excepting, the position he was introduced into a new experience that began his pursuit into the music industry as a recording artist. Desiring to expand his horizons while diligently recording songs and Touring around the Greater Seattle area, SUPERDAVE realized he did not want to be put in a box and fall into the category as another starving Turntable DJ, so he began to pursue Mobile Entertainment.
When the group disbanded, SUPERDAVE was offered a Promotions Assistant position with Seattle Radio Powerhouse KUBE 93. Accepting and fulfilling the position with the radio station KUBE, increased rapid career growth and understanding of how to be a Radio DJ. Ultimately, while working at the radio station he was then crowned and given the nick name DJ SUPERDAVE from local Hip Hop icon DJ Nasty Ness.
After his tenure, at KUBE 93 he was offered an A&R and Promotions position with Heads Up/Intermix Records, a prominent Jazz and R&B record label. While working for the record label, he discovered and managed Second Nature, one of Seattle’s most talented R&B groups, who achieved National and International sales success and he promoted chart topping artist such as Phillip Bailey, Pamela Williams, Joe McBride and the Caribbean Jazz Project which consists of Jazz Legends Andy Narrell, Dave Samuels and Paquito D’rivera. SUPERDAVE enjoyed the opportunity being the force behind recording artist and seeing Millions of recording units sold Worldwide. However, he had a desire to get back into the Radio Industry so he accepted and held a short-lived position at urban radio station KRIZ. It was at this radio station where he observed and mentored the success and Entrepreneurship of African American media mogul Chris Bennett. After the job at KRIZ, SUPERDAVE was encouraged to enter into the next level of being a Business owner and Entrepreneur himself. Within 1 year from the inception of becoming a Full time Business owner and Mobile DJ, SUPERDAVE sky rocketed to become a unique brand, elite DJ entertainer and the Peoples Choice throughout Washington State, entertaining many high profile Celebrities and some of the richest men in the world such as Bill Gates, Howard Schultz, Jeff Bezos, Paul Allen, the Boeing family and the list goes on and on.
SUPERDAVE’S rise to local fame comes with a solid reputation and a unique DJ personality that is beyond comprehension. SUPERDAVE applies his cutting edge style and brand persona to each and every Party, knowing how to work any given audience into pure Dance Bliss. He has been awarded Best New Talent Emcee/Host from a panel of judges from Los Angeles and has held several DJ residencies at Night Clubs throughout Washington State. He has performed over 5000 shows & special events and is the only DJ Company in the Northwest with over 100 DJ’s in his Record Pool.
In conclusion, being active in the community DJ SUPERDAVE is a PTA member and Big Brother committed to helping the Youth of America. Through many accolades and achievements, SUPERDAVE’S intension at the start of his career as a DJ, Entrepreneur and Innovator has always been motivated by the existence and future of his own children.
