Bio

In 2012, DJ Todd launched Vintage Records, an independent Hip-Hop record label. The mission statement is the following: To create classic Hip-Hop material and drive revenue streams through first-class marketing, promotions, and advertising. Vintage Records has selected one artist to release in Fall of 2012 – Nick Fury hailing from Cleveland. Atlanta native Sugar Tongue Slim will also appear on Fury’s release.

DJ Todd grew up near Dayton, OH and began his love for hip-hop when he first witnessed breakdancing on the playground in grade school. Being a drummer already, he was naturally drawn to the rhythms, beats, and the DJ. He began DJing in Jr. High continuing through high school and college, attending and graduating from Central State University, a historically black college from 1993-1997. While at CSU, he performed for crowds of a +1000 plus almost every weekend.

While at CSU, DJ Todd opened for KRS-ONE, Common, and the Fu-Schnickens. He also opened for several comedy acts including Tony Sculfield, & Alonzo "Hamburger" Jones. During the many student talent shows that CSU held, he often worked with Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth who organized the talent. He also was the winner of the 1995 CSU DJ Contest where he performed a 6 min. routine against several other DJ's.

During the mixtape game of the 90's, DJ Todd demanded perfection. He was inspired by the 20 min. workouts that he heard by DJ's in the Cleveland area. As a result, he released Genesis selling all 1000 copies he produced at his listening party in 1996 He also released Exodus in 1997, the follow-up to Genesis which again became wildly successful. After graduating from CSU, DJ Todd moved to Brooklyn, NY and attended The Institute of Audio Research. He circulated and sold Genesis, & Exodus while in NYC.

In 2010, DJ Todd released "The Guru Salute," a tribute to the late GURU (rip). "The Guru Salute" includes talented emcees and singers from the Cleveland area. In 2011, DJ Todd launched his website, The Vintage Hip-Hop Shop. He also launched his own internet radio station, on LIVE 365. The station has become extremely popular from #549 since inception to #2.

In Fall of 2011, DJ Todd released “The Ohio All-Stars” - a throwback single that features many talented MC’s and singers from various parts of Ohio including underground sensation, Copywrite.
