Bio

Who is Da Truuf and what put’s you in position to be the Official Voice of The Streetz?…Many people claim those titles but what seperates you from those “Imitators to the name”?

Well I am a Triple Threat. With more than 5000 Events under my belt and being in the business of making promoters look good since 1992, I have taken charge of my career and been able to develop over the years relationships with promoters and businesses that have proven to be genuine and sincere and people see that and understand that I am a rider and to be a man of your word is more important than anything you can do in your life. The Streetz have made me and its there where I feel the most comfortable.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments?….Far before I was in the business of Hip Hop, I was working through the ranks of one of the biggest swim teams in the country, grinding on the surf and creating a legacy through the Philadelphia Dept of Recreation and YMCA of The USA. For over 20 years, I have been an avid swimmer and even better teacher of aquatics. I have personally taught more than 5000 Kids and young adults to swim with my Learn-to-Swim Program.

That would be my biggest Life Accomplishment next to the birth of my son, Mikey Da DJ in 1998.

Alright now lets bring it to the current, tell me about your hip hop and DJ career. You sound like you should be on radio? Are you?…

Well it really kicked into high gear for me when I was asked to host a radio seminar at Temple University in 2001. My Gov’t Name is Tony Brown, and because of my line of work, people always assumed I was on radio because of my name being synonymous with clubs and various events. I hosted that panel with Vince Demintri, NBC 10 News, Jesse Jordan of Q102 FM and Tim Greene of 103.9FM The Beat. I made such a good impression with the Temple faculty that they invited me to do a show on their student run station 91.3 FM. After more than 3 years on the air at Temple and being the 1st Non-student to host a show there, I was presented with a syndication deal with Street Radio 92.9FM and 97.7 WSKR. WOW, I went from not ever hosting on radio to being one of the 1st to host at 3 at the same time in Philly. From there I received a Job offer from Teddy B, Sneaker Villa store Mgr who had heard of me and finally met with me in the offices of The Heatholders Record Pool. After one email I secured a position at his store on Broad St with DJ Diamond Kuts and the rest I should say is history. I know Produce/Host/DJ on Street Radio WDJP online on over 150 Podstations. On the air in Europe every Tuesday @ 2pm EST www.GKRADIO.eu and twice aday LIVE on www.STREETSD.com
If you want that history, feel free to Google Search me ” Da truuf” and you’ll get caught up to date…LOL

What are some things you want to do in the future?
I would like to continue writing my column, The Chron-icles which is published nationally through Streetz Magazine. Streetzmag and I would like to travel as far away from this radio market as I possible, because someone like me will go crazy if I’m forced to keep listening to these no talent radio people who claim to hold down the streets. I never see any of these people and I’m on the streets every night and dats da truuf. I would also like to hear my show on XM or Sirius Satellite Radio. I would also like to continue expanding on my Branding of events and businesses…I am on a tear right now, having branded several major entities including the Sneaker Villa Dream Street DJ’s, Street Radio 92.9FM, “Da Truuf” Brand Name and the LIVE Audition Concert Tour.

If you need me you know where to find me, On the Streetz in your Town USA and dats da truuf.

Where he spins?
Sneaker Villa: Friday and Saturday
My calendar is getting heavy and i’m doing alot of travelling to do various club events and speaking engagements.
