"KSDT in SAN DIEGO"

I like the beat from the intro to the breakdown into the nice horn-ish beat. I like the chorus a lot too! Great call-and-response type chorus, would be cool if the response was a 'right here' kinda thing for a live show. Good solid underground track, good for college radio!

"Rap Attack Lives"

We Are The "ORIGINATOR" & NOT the "IMITATORS" of
COLLEGE HIP-HOP RADIO!

DKLA is one of the hottest new up and coming Hip-Hop groups in 2009. With their rhythmic old school vibes and new school flavor, you can't help but enjoy their music. This group is definitely on the right track & has the potential of becoming GREAT!

NASTY-NES (CEO of RapAttackLives.com): "A breath of fresh air for Hip-Hop music & Hip-Hop! DKLA brings back the fun to Hip-Hop since it dropped off during the late 90's"

DJ Frresh (KPSU-Portland): "DKLA is pure FIYA! I like them a lot & they're bringing real Hip-Hop back."

DJ Yellow Cros (WRUV-VT): "I really like this track. The rappers have very creative flows that make me want to listen to what they are saying. They also have complementary flows to each other which improves the track. The beat, although somewhat simple as it is based off mostly a sample and a drum beat; the symbol that thrown in every once and a while keeps the beat fresh and I also like the sample of the woman singing during the chorus, it compliments the track. I think that the track could be improved if it had a build up free of the intro. All in all, this is a track that will make me look more into this artist"

DJ Sage (CFRO-Vancouver): " Definitely digging the energy of DKLA. Their music have dope beats and nice lyrics. Looking forward to their full length release"

DJ Bobby-G Thang (WXAC-PA): "When I first heard DKLA I liked it. I got the one of their cd's & the second track, "Where You At" is slammin!"

"Music Connection"

"Hooks and catch-phrases abound from this rap duo whose recordings are adeptly mixed to allow for maximum vocla clarity. "Where You At?" is a perfect example. "Ungodly" ventures into uncharted territory and is a sort of Ying Yang Twins take with a cool techno/synth vibe. "Nights Like This" sucks you right in with its Tribe Called Quest influence. That's the thing about this act: thay gaze back for inspiration but work hard to com up with new twist. There's still work to be done, however, especially more polishing of their hooks." - Music Connection

Bio

Two men from separate paths joined by one common interest, the love for Hip-Hop. As DeElirious and Kyro come together to form the all mighty duo D.K.L.A. (DeElirious and Kyro’s Language Arts), they create a unique world of cultivated rhymes and captivating melodies. D.K.L.A. is a lyrical and production duo, derived from the underground hip-hop world. Emcees DeElirious and Kyro each bring a wide assortment of musical talent that when combined, creates a mind boggling result that leaves you yearning for more. Many have said that they are a throwback to the golden-era of hip-hop, reminiscent of such groups as A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and Leaders of the New School, just to name a few. D.K.L.A. began their journey back in the fall of 1993, as two creative kids dropping heartfelt rhymes into a karaoke machine. It wasn’t long before they both realized that music was something they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. Years later, they would emerge into what is brought forth to the masses today, a couple of hip-hoppers who still remain kids at heart. During their quest, D.K.L.A. has branched into numerous fields of entertainment. DeElirious, during his years attending college at the University of Miami, became a recognizable voice on a popular radio show, hosted by DJ Klarc Shepard and himself. Although the show had great success, Dee felt that there was something still missing in the equation. He would later link up with a hip-hop crew, known as the “Mic Intellects”, and record his first release, “Offensive Linemen”. Their single would later gain some popularity amongst the Miami scene. Meanwhile, on the west coast, Kyro recorded a couple of non-released singles with his crew, known as “The Hip-Hop Soldier Click”. This group had a reputation for their relentless rap battles. Although both of these young men have experienced their share of individual highlights, they still felt the need to fill a certain void missing from their equation of success. Ultimately, Dee would pack his bags and head for Los Angeles, where he would eventually reconnect with Kyro and begin their new quest and form the mighty duo. With their debut release of their album, “The Waiting Period” in 2007, they definitely have shown a lot of promise for the future. With strong passions for their craft and their unconditional love of the game, D.K.L.A. intends on preserving hip-hop to its natural state.
