Nathaniel Marshall (a.k.a IllumniNate Mics) grew up on the south side of Chicago. Surrounded by drugs and violence, he managed to escape the streets, thriving in both school and on Chicago's spoken word scene. He combines these influences with his natural penchant for lyrical poetry to form the duo Daily Lyrical Product with his producer and co-MC Lamar J. Smith (a.k.a Jus Love). With their debut album, The Product, due out November 10. DLP's sound can be characterized mostly by its gritty drumbeats and sparse synthesizers. Without the lush production found in many of Marshall's influences, like The Roots and Tablib Kweli, The Product has a spare, raw sound. Despite IllumiNate Mics evident literary background, the lyrics remain largely self-laudatory with only a few gems. Some lines, like Rhyme scheme out of hand like prison soap," are undeniably witty, whereas others like "DLP slang product like dopeman" are clangers, tending to dull the effects of the duo's otherwise sharp delivery. Nevertheless, for a pre-freshman effort, and especially one so low on resources, The Product foretells a bright future for DLP. - The Acronym- Oct. 2006

Bio
Daily Lyrical Product is a hip-hop tandem from Chicago consisting of Lamar "JusLove" Smith and Nate "Illuminate Mics" Marshall. Formed in 2005 while both members were students at Whitney Young High School, DLP has worked with Chicago luminaries such as ADD-2, Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, Vic Mensa, Dave Coresh, Drunken Monkeee, and many more. They have released two independent hip-hop albums.
JusLove is a producer/multi-instrumentalist/MC/singer/songwriter who has worked with numerous Chicago acts as a sound engineer while studying Audio Engineering & Acoustics at Columbia College in Chicago. JusLove is currently working on his solo debut album, "The Love."
Illuminate Mics is a poet/MC who has been featured on HBO's "Brave New Voices", Chicago Public Radio, and the award-winning documentary "Louder Than a Bomb". He recently released a chapbook of poetry called "Unconditional Like" in tandem with a hip-hop EP called "The Langston Huge Project". He is also an honors student double majoring in English and African American Studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
