24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

D-Mic & J-Rod: We are an independent Hip-Hop duo from Toronto, Canada and we go by the names of D-Mic & J-Rod. We write and produce all our own music, as well as engineering and

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

D-Mic & J-Rod: There are two of us and we each have different life stories, but one thing we do share in common is the fact that we both were born into music. Meaning some of our family
members we’re involved in music, which made it come naturally for the both of us.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

D-Mic & J-Rod: Being Canadian, we are an audience to the American hip-hop scene. Having said that, Toronto always had a large local underground Hip-Hop community that we wanted to
contribute too.

24: What makes you Unique as an artist and different from other artists out now?

D-Mic & J-Rod: When It comes to all the production; meaning instrumentals, engineering and songwriting; we do it all ourselves. We are two complete solo artists, that have come
together to form a duo.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

D-Mic & J-Rod: We are currently recording our third official mixtape “Castle on a Cloud” at Metal Works Studios in Toronto. It’s due for release in 2013.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

D-Mic & J-Rod: All Our Music is produced by D-Mic and his production team. For producers in the future; if anyone is interested in working, they can contact us. At this time we are not
looking for any producers to provide us with music.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

D-Mic & J-Rod: We appreciate all the support we’ve been getting in Toronto and even from our fans out
in the U.S.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name.

D-Mic & J-Rod: To make yourself a household name in the music industry you need; great music, a marketing plan, money and support.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

D-Mic & J-Rod: We feel it is in a great position for us to take over.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

D-Mic & J-Rod: We are currently working on building a production company that handles everything from; engineering and beat production to artist development.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

D-Mic & J-Rod: We’re just going to keep doing what got us this far, plus more! Providing our present and future fans with timeless music.

DMJR is an acronym for the two artists and producers, D-Mic & J-Rod. Known for the love of their home in Toronto; but that doesnt mean they dont want to break out to a worldwide audience. Through their self-produced songs and videos, these guys are looking to increase their exposure and expand their reach. The duo is currently working on the follow-up to 2012s Best of Both Worlds with a new mixtape titled, 14 which is currently in production at Metalworks Recording Studios and will be released 2014!
