"DNAC Interviewed by Roisin Kelleher"

DNAC recently released ‘Shine On Crazy’, an energy laden track with skittering beats, a tempo-base melody and a catchiness and easy-to-listen to vibe which foresees the album well. Below we interviewed DNAC to discuss their inspirations, musical musings, and album plans.

First off, how’s it going?

I am currently working on a new album, which I would like to be able to publish in the spring, but my New Year’s resolution was to work on it until it is absolutely perfect and do not care about deadlines. So it may actually be ready in the fall…

What are the main things that inspire you musically?

These can be very weird things really, from medieval music on the harmony side to some folk beats, but many ideas simply come up when experimenting with the music technology. Quite often when playing with knobs and switches I find something I want to use because I like it and haven’t heard it before. Definitely I do not want to sound like X or Y.

How important is image to you when it comes to promoting your music?

I guess it is very important but I am worried I did not spent enough time on it. Actually I did not spent any time but I realize great music is not everything and well, I need to add it to my list for 2013!

"DNAC, Shine on Crazy"

A zippy title for a lively album, DNAC’s Shine on Crazy is eminently suitable for the dance floor. Even during those moments when the album is subdued, there lurks the potential for a sonic explosion at the drop of a beat. With a diverse past encompassing punk rock, piano, percussion, and bass guitar, DNAC has ventured into the world of electronic music. It seems he has found his calling. ... It is not surprising that DNAC has a background in bass; nasty electronic bass lines guide this album through edgy terrain. Spontaneity is a suitable word for Shine on Crazy, which would make a prime soundtrack for dance floor seduction. About the album as a whole, there’s not a slow track, nor is there a weak track. There is something so utterly urban about DNAC – a Warsaw native – who offers dynamic songs for a dynamic venue…maybe an underground club tucked within the bowels of a bustling metropolis. DNAC plans to release a new album in March 2013. - Skope Entertainment Inc.

"DNAC – Shine on Crazy (CD)"

I Know You boosts the momentum of Shine on Crazy considerably, changing the overall style and feel originally introduced in Is This Your World. This time out, DNAC links together Madonna and Beyonce into a funky, chill effort. I Know You provides listeners with a retro feel that still feel at home in the most cutting-edge dance clubs. It’s Like That ties together the rap of the eighties into a soundscape that will continually have listeners guessing. The eclectic nature of DNAC is shown best during Running To You (Shine On Mix). This track will buffet listeners from all sides, keeping a tempo that ensures that listeners will still be jamming out even as the track spins to a halt.
Are We There Yet is the boost that the EP needs to spin through the end; the interplay between the vocals and sequencing provides fans with a neon-tinged dance track. DNAC is a master of creating compositions that are familiar but miles away from anything that is currently being played.
DNAC ends the Shine on Crazy EP with three versions of Waiting. The radio edit starts things off, but I feel that the Deep & Dark Mix of Waiting. The Deep & Dark Mix adds considerably to the complexity of the track, all while spinning the effort into a decidedly different space. This mix will garner heavy rotation in the setlists of DJs of various stripes; its versatility ensures that all listeners can appreciate it. Make it a point to check out DNAC’s website for more information regarding any news, show dates, or freshly-updated music.

Still working on that hot first release.

DNAC, once leader of a punk band, bass guitar player and vocalist, is now a solo act composing and producing highly energetic music, inspired by dance and alternative music of all ages from renaissance to nowadays. Strong beat with dirty sounds and provocative harmonies are DNAC's mark.
