"Mark Bialczak- Music Critic"

The guys in veteran Oswego rock band Doc Apple love to jam.

Jeffrey Davis on vocals and guitar, Paul Heagerty on bass, Patrick Galvin on vocals and slide guitar, Scott DeVinny on vocals and percussion, and Billy Barlow on drums all show the instrumental passion of "Now & Then."

The 10-song collection shows that they also know how to keep the melody and heart of the song always in sharp focus, too.

They start with a jazzy "What's Goin' On," and stride through grand cuts like "Square Ball" and "Illuminator."

On the prior, they exude enough confidence in their individuality and place in life to sing, "I'm a square ball always bouncing. Never landing right side up."

On the latter, they match hot rock guitar with their own fable: "Friends may come and friends may go, father always told you so. Wish you may or wish you might, be with all your friends tonight. Something ventured, nothing gained. All day long it poured and rained. Midnight when the moon broke free, just like it was meant to be. You'll find your own illumination. You'll know comfort by that inner light

Bio

Central New York band Doc Apple was formed in the very early 90’s as a Folk Rock cover band that loved and were heavily influenced by music of The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, The Talking Heads, Bob Dylan and The Band. Very soon the group realized that it’s true strength was in the realm of original material and soon had over forty songs that began to take on a life and evolution all their own.
People began to take notice and soon the clubs, venues and festivals that Doc Apple performed were filled with folks that appreciated the positive vibes and danceable grooves that the group were ever expanding upon. You could count on a good time at a Doc Apple Show
Then they began to tour through out New Enland, sharing the stage with such jam- band luminaries as Moe, The New Riders of thePurple Sage, Hot Tuna, The Spin Doctors, Max Creek and many more.
In 1994 the Doc Apple released the critically acclaimed “Hope” CD. Many gigs later nad a few member changes led up to the release of
“Now& Then” a 2008 release that features a fresh new line up that brings new flavors and musical textures to the group but remains loyal to the Doc Apple sound
The members now include, Scott “ Huffy” DeVinny - Vocals & Percussion, Paul Heagerty- Bass Guitars
Patrick Galvin- Rhythm and Slide guitars, vocals, Michael Hamer - Drums, Jeffrey Davis -Guitar& Vocals
The group has just begun to tour through out the Central NY region and beyond to support and promote this new release
