"Doc Jones at Wolfstock III draws nearly 400 fans"

Often you will hear someone refer to a person’s “youthful energy.” That term is the best way to describe the performance delivered by Doc Jones just after dusk. Four early 20-something musicians, whose present incarnation’s longevity is still being measured in months, not years.

I had seen Josh Strothmann, Matt Antonik, Jake Schofield and Matt Redding perform live before, (the band was also on the Musically Speaking radio show in July. That show can be heard in the archives on the Web site) but those shows were nothing like what I witnessed at WolfStock.

Being on a big stage in an outdoor venue, the guys’ energy level seemed to go off of the charts. Their performance kept everyone paying attention. I even saw fans older than me tapping their toes in time to the music. In my opinion, the Doc Jones show stopper was the dedication and performance of their new, original song, “Wolves.”

The tune was dedicated to WolfStock and the memory of Bob Troutt, the Wolfman - Jack Clark - The Register News
