Doctor Ed

BandRockFunk

Doctor Ed's style is as unique as every person in the band. The soul that breathes our music is a mix of reggae-funk and heavy rock jams and reminiscent of ska/punk undertones from younger days. The communication between these musicians live is inspiring with years of together as friends andmuscians

Biography

Doctor Ed is a seven-piece reggae-funk influenced psychedelic rock band from the Chicago suburbs. This band has been together for over six years and has experienced many transformations from its ska/punk beginnings to the funky rhythms, heavy rock jamming, and busty horn lines in its continuing evolution. Such a long history and connection between these members brings a unique style and tight performance between these musicians.
Much love to all of our wonderful friends and fans that make every show such an amazing experience, always. We invite all out there to come out and dance, laugh, live, and love among our raging community that only keeps on growing. We love what we're doing and want everyone to be a part in it.

Manufactured Consent

Manufactured Consent

You wouldn’t believe me if I told you its true
The action to these problems are way over due
Look at reason, look at it right
And you’ll see how we’ve lost our vision and sight

When was the last time you made your own choice
In your actions I hear the puppets voice
Manufactured consent, read it maybe you’ll see
Mass media out to sell the product that’s you and me
What used to be a noble march protect our country
Became a silent march the drone of apathy
Hailing to the phrase its not our problem
Leaving whole generations to be condemned

I’m just here to trigger the thought
Of why those before us stood up and fought
Not for fame or cash money
Just to live freely in our own society

Many regret the past few years
For seeing the abuse of all of our fears
Thus sending our men to a far away place
With no opposition till it hit home base

Take a good look at the hour glass sand
And the downfalls of mankind you’ll understand
For gods sake stop looking over your shoulder
Wishing that it was all over

Believe me now oh you know its true
We must take action with all we can do
Look at reason, look at it right
And there just maybe some hope left in this fight

Take a good look at the hour glass of sand
And the hopes for mankind you’ll understand
Keep you head up its not near the end
Unless you’ve chopped off both of your hands

Keystone

What has come to pass will find its way again
In another form in another when
As natural
As the sun passing through the horizon
Set it motion, long ago
Now remnants of a faint echo
Subtly lingering yet freely reappearing

Stumped by a moment, Oh moment of clarity
For the control, control for own destiny

Spirits I’ve learned to find and embrace
Changes my internal rhythms pace
Into a revealed consciousness
Unmistakable in its breathless
Like seeing a familiar face
Familiar face in the strangest place

After each encounter can’t help be reflect
What’s to be perceived in this connect
Mindless chatter clutters the thoughts
Tossed between hope and being distraught
Sweet inspiration radiates from your smile
Makes everything here now worth while

Stumped by a moment, moment of clarity
For the control of our own destiny

Timeless here, in this space
Timeless here, in this space
Time less here, in this space
In this space, in this space

Set in motion long ago
Now remnants of a faint echo
Subtly lingering yet freely reappearing
The origins remain unknown
as the invisible keystone
listen with all your senses and you will see
the harmony in everything that is you and me
stumped by a moment of clarity
for the control of our own destiny
stuck in the language of how we speak
as I fall back down from reaching the peak

stumped by a moment of clarity
for the control of our own destiny

timeless here in this space
would rather be in no other place
here and now in this eternity
shared by this space between you and me
concealed in subjectivity
but revealed in our unity
swaying back and forth
take everything for what its worth
take everything for what its worth
take everything for what its worth
take everything for what its worth
while you’re here on this good earth

stumped by a moment of clarity
for the control of our own destiny
