Bio
Doctor Smith are an established 5-piece formed in Dublin in 2001 They have been playing regularly in pretty much every venue in the city, including Vicar Street, Whelan’s, The Village and TBMC. Having written and recorded numerous demos, they had gained some label interest in 2002/03 before being forced to change their line-up, for the better as it happens. Equipped with the standard rock formula of two guitars, bass, drums and a front man, they decided to deviate from the beaten path by constructing songs to challenge them in every way.
Featuring ex-members of Pedestrian and Waterstone, they have been in and out of the public eye in recent months due to other commitments, but have now started a full on onslaught and are 100% dedicated to bringing Doctor Smith’s style of music to as many people as possible. Incorporating visual displays into their set to offer something different, the band found this to be a hugely beneficial tool in showcasing their live set. Reaping such accolades as NME.com mentioning their recent demo tracks as “well crafted little gems”, and Hot Press magazine declaring them as one of the 100 best unsigned bands in Ireland, the band have started to move in the right direction and hope to continue as long as people want them around.
The band line up is as follows; Graham Mooney – lead vocals, Gabhain Neary – drums, Steven Dunne – bass, Caoimhin Barry – guitar and Eamonn Tracey – guitars.
