"Upcoming on Audioasis: Afternoon American, The Spinning Whips, The Cute Lepers and The Whore Moans @ The Sunset!"

It’s going to be another fantastic night of local music this Saturday at The Sunset Tavern in Ballard, with Audioasis’s resident DJ Hannah Levin hosting special musical guests Afternoon American, The Spinning Whips, The Cute Lepers and The Whore Moans! Each month Audioasis chooses one local charity for proceeds to go to: This month, People’s Harm Reduction Alliance is spotlighted. People Harm Reduction Alliance is a community-based, grassroots organization. They believe that harm reduction services are most effective when they are offered with respect and compassion in a democratic context that treats all community members as equals and peers.

Afternoon American (9:15PM) features members of awesome local band members of The Hands & Shark Lake. One of their first shows, and not to be missed!

The Spinning Whips (10:15PM) features members of local bands Ice Age Cobra and Magic Mirrors. Brand new music from Jordan West! - KEXP - Audioasis

"Mark Your Calendars: Two New Bands (and a Secret One) to take the stage December 4th"

As far as we’re concerned, Friday December 4th at the Blue Moon is a monster lineup.

Little did we know that when we agreed to sponsor the first show of Jordan West’s new band the Spinning Whips, we’d end up with a whole lot more. Formerly of Ice Age Cobra, West (who’s been taking singing lessons) invited us out his practice space to get a taste of what his new six piece has to offer and we were hella impressed. Also playing their first show is the Blessed Deep, a band that includes your friendly Sunset bartender Holly (formerly of Chuck Yay-Grr).

The most recent exciting development is that a fourth band has been attached to the bill as a secret headliner. They go by the name “Staying Out & Getting Off.” We couldn’t be happier they wanted to play.

Below are the full details:

"Photos: The Spinning Whips, Blood Red Dancers, Mongrel Blood & Mopper @ the Comet"

Thank you to the Spinning Whips, Blood Red Dancers, Mongrel Blood and Mopper, who played Saturday night’s Back Beat Seattle show at the Comet. I had a great time seeing all these bands play, and I hope if you attended that you had a wonderful night too! Dave Lichterman and I covered the show – thanks Dave! The Spinning Whips next play the Funhouse on January 8th, and Blood Red Dancers are headed to the Cha Cha on December 19th. - Backbeat Seattle
