"The next Norwegian rock force?"

Dog Almighty has existed since january 2006 and delivers a debut album that seems promising for the future. Their sound is somewhat american alternative rock or nu metal.

At first i thought Dog Almighty was just another rock band. After a couple of runs through the album I had written words like “premature and boring”, but suddenly everything changed. Through several listenings this album grows on fundamental strenghts, and turns out to be a solid debut. Some tracks reveal weaknesses of a typical debut album, but tracks like "Sinner" (the anthem of this album), "It Doesn´t Hurt", "Perfect Lie" and "Already There" are good enough to raise the impact of almost any release.

The band deserves credit for their lyrics. Listen, and you’ll see what I mean. Also worth noticeable is that the first 2000 copies are hand made by the band, so these might end up collectors items.

I can easily recommend this album, partly because it is worth every penny, but even more if you wanna have something to brag about when this band gets huge.

Bio

Dog Almighty consists of members from
former rock outfits Span (Island Records) and
Farout Fishing. This means that they've been
around the block already, and that they are in
constant transformation as a band. Their eagerness
comes to expression on their debut album (out now!!!)
as its soaring and agressive riffage unites with
strong and sometimes even magically beautiful melodies.
Album opener "It Doesn't Hurt" has
all the elements that this band represents.

The diversity and complexity in this album in both
lyrics and song arrangements reflects that Dog
Almighty has a lot on their minds. Even the the CD
has a circular print saying; ?serve your greed and
you'll get what you de-serve your greed...?. Get it?
The lyrics are actually brutally honest sometimes.
?Break? tells stories about a tormented mind, and it is
obvious that it is not based on fiction only. But we all
know that torment feeds good rock.
