"TVN Article"

"The more one listen's to Ken Dolman's music the more it gets into the head. His tunes are unobtrusively cathy and catchily unobtrusive." Emily Palm- Teton Valley news - Teton Valley News

"No North Review"

"...and a voice in Ken Dolman's which should help make them left-field pop stars with tunes, integrity and a massive audience within a year. The best debut of 2002 - an outstanding combination of folk music, stories of the working class, love, and dejection, mixed with deft electric flourishes, metronomic beats and a cloak of lo-fi." - Americana UK

"Mojo Review-No North"

"...recalls Becks informal roots sets One Foot In The Grave and Mutations, combining the former's surreal dustbowl surrealism....layered shuffles infused with a bittersweet, Eels style world weariness..." Manish Angarwal- Mojo - Mojo Magazine

Bio

dolman is Ken Dolman's chosen moniker as a solo artist; troubadour style. Ken has been active in the music world for the last six years . As the frontman & main songwriter in No North, he cultivated an audience in Los Angeles at venues like Hotel Cafe, Spaceland, Knitting Factory & The Echo. The band's self released albums drew critical praise and eventually won them a record contract with Country Fire Records in the UK. A successful 2005 UK tour included a top 30 album on iTunes, and international press in Mojo Magazine. Back in the US, they found opening slots with: Daniel Lanois, Mike Watt, Stan Ridgeway,The Earlies, Akron Family, radio play in Los Angeles, Austin, on NPR and XM, and a licensed song for CBS. They were happy to perform at South By Southwest 2006 in Austin, TX with Tom Freund. After five years of hard work, No North is on hiatus, and dolman is pursuing a more acoustic approach to the music he writes. The new record, simply titled "dolman", is Ken's first solo release. Produced by Greg Richling, (Wallflowers, Fiona Apple) the album was written on the road in Europe with simplicity in mind, while lyrically maintaining a sense of humor in its outlook on modern life and the struggles it holds.
