"For someone who started a music career relatively late in life, Dolores Magro has all the confidence, poise and surety of a longtime professional. It is a joy to watch her perform her poignant and mounful songs of love lost and found, and of everyday people dealing with life in such a soulful and original manner. David Stone, of the successful tribute band "The Johnny Cash Experience," puts it this way .... 'she's a great storyteller ... the female version of a balladeer ...'
She has her own sound, her own voice. ... For anyone accustomed to pain, frustration, heartache or loss, it is especially freeing to hear it set to music." - News of Delaware County

Bio
Influences are Gillian Welch, Bob Dylan, Dave Van Ronk, and Lucinda Williams.
I have been in love with the sound of acoustic music, the singer/songwriter style and songs that tell stories since hearing Doc Watson and Dave Van Ronk in the 60s at the Second Fret in Philadelphia. It wasn't until 2004 when a musician friend offhandedly suggested that I should play that I considered it. Never too late! Now one of the highlights of my life is performing for hospital patients through WXPN's Musicians On Call program.
