Bio

After starting out playing improvised ambient sets D/G quickly gained the attention of FBi Radio who after their first show were asked to play a live set on air. Invitations to play their amorphous sound installations continued until they were asked to create a release. Afterwards, D/G created the Circle Trilogy EP (a three-track release with an ambient intro and a terrifying orchestral noise outro). The Circle Trilogy received acclaim with an emphasis on its originality, energy and the continuity of the music.

The shows then developed further into two-sided displays retaining mostly improvised content save for the EP’s dancefloor single “Eschatol” and the beat driven meditation of Memory Center, shows could range from 30mins to an hour of continuous sound from delicate ambient textures to screeching noise. Sensing that the shows were ready to be taken to a new level, D/G invited Jasper Fenton whose primal drumming style and experience with improvised music solidified his place as a permanent member and marked the beginnings of a new sound.

Only a month after the release of The Circle Trilogy, D/G began working on a soundtrack to the first exhibition of surrealist collage artist James Kerr whose work appears on The Circle Trilogy cover. This resulted in the 34 minute vinyl release entitled No Way Back after the exhibition of the same name. No Way Back marked the beginning of playing with structural foundations but still allowing impromptu space so that no song ever sounds exactly the same. It also displayed a maturity in composition and production techniques where the works explored sparse arrangements, melodic progression and a stripping back of layers balanced by an increase of instrumental variety.

Next up will be the release of the first full length Domeyko/Gonzalez record: Exploding The Beauty Myth.
