Domino Theory

 Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA
BandRockFunk

High-energy power trio. Mixing many genres rock, jazz, funk, and electronica.

Biography

Drawing heavily from old-school rock and gritty funk, Domino Theory fuses many styles together, including jazz, blues, reggae and freak-out to form a genre bending, progressively original sound. Fully embracing the freedoms afforded of a “power trio” , DT combines intricately composed passages with explosive improvs and explorations resulting in a powerful musical exchange of ideas and energy. Fans and first timers alike are quickly drawn into live performances where the high-energy atmosphere feeds both band and audience alike, producing an experience greater than the sum of its parts.
With over a decade of experience playing together, founding members Alan Lucas (bass, keys, lead vocals) and Ward Woolverton (guitars, vocals) share an instantly recognizable chemistry with Brad Greene (drums, vocals) allowing for creative song writing and fearless live performances. With a constantly expanding repertoire of original music, live shows are never the same twice, leaving fans guessing as to what will happen next. Striving to explore many musical styles and tastes, the one common thread is the Groove.
Playing steadily throughout their home base of Berkshire County Massachusetts, DT is quickly spreading into the North East, sharing bills with such acts as Max Creek, Strangefolk,Assembly of Dust ,Ryan Mountbleau Band,Steve Kimock, Melvin Sparks, Scarecrow Collection and Roots of Creation just to name a few. On stage the band has found themselves graced with the musical presences of members of The Grateful Dead,The Allman Brothers Band, Deep Banana Blackout,Rev Tor Band and Flipper Dave just to name a few. As one die-hard fan said, “Domino Theory has reinvented the power trio.” Look for their new CD in May 2009.

Lyrics

Conductor

Written By: Alan Lucas

Riding down the Green Line, heading East towards Boston,
Don’t really know where I’m at, and I think I’ve lost it
And that’s alright with me,
I’m where I want to be,
Three long years in New York City

Conductor
Don’t slow this train down
Conductor
You can’t slow this train down

Heading South from Boston, you were always on my mind,
Leaving her wasn’t easy
Leaving Boston so far behind
And that’s alright with me
I’m where I want to be
Three long years in New York City

Conductor
Don’t slow this train down
Conductor
You can’t slow this train down

So I’m finally in New York City, with you by my side,
Leaving Boston wasn’t easy baby
Leaving Boston so far behind
And that’s alright with me,
I’m where I want to be,
Three long years in New York City

Conductor
Don’t slow this train down
Conductor
You can’t slow this train down

Tired (Promo Version)

Written By: Alan Lucas

I can feel, I can feel my heart pumping,
and I don't, and I don't even know why,
As I grow, as I grow from where i started
I know, I know I will survive
I know I will, I know I will, I know....

As I turn, as I turn and face the crowd,
I see, I see you looking at me,
and I know, just what makes my heart pump,
Wait and see, I know we will survive,
I know we will, I know we will, I know...

Tired, I can't even think for myself.

I'm so tired, I can't even think for myself,
He's so tired, He can't even think for himself,
She's so tired, she can't even think for herself,
We’re all so TIRED!
