Don Carter

BandHip Hop

I would say my music is uplifting. It talks about real life situations and the only way to cope with them is through God. It is urban hip hop gospel. I cant really describe my style because I love my music to be versitile. I am blessed with the capability of rapping about anything.

Biography

I, Don Carter, was born May 27,1990, in Louisville, Mississippi. In 2003 I heard the rap artist 50 cent’s video “Wanksta” and became intrigued with the music. Being a nerd in school, I saw all the attention 50 was getting and said I need that same attention. Instantly I picked up the pen and started writing not knowing where it would lead me to. My peers laughed at the thought of me, a nerd, rapping but that fuel lighted my fire. I went around the school battling and dominating. I got into many arguments and altercations because of the victories I obtained. I became even hungrier so when I graduated high school in 2008 I majored in recording industry at Mississippi Valley State University. Being a nerd who was sheltered all his life and in a new environment by myself was nerve wrecking. I saw for the first time how cruel the world is. I said to myself that it has to be something better than what I see around me. The answer was God! Growing up in the church all my life and rebelling against the Christian life that was taught to me I failed to realize God is what I truly needed. I took the next semester off to get more acquainted with God. So in August 2009 I decided to do gospel hip hop. I did secular rap for six years depending on people, I have done gospel rap for four months and now I have my own studio! The blessing speaks for itself. Enjoy the demo and let me know what you think.
