"A variety of influences and styles come into play from classic rock to classic country and folk"

A variety of influences and styles come into play from classic rock to classic country and folk on Don Gallardo’s latest effort Sweetheart Radio Revolution, etc…making for an incredibly well-crafted album of songs that can best be classified as Americana. “Sitting On Top of the World” introduces you to the album and you instantly see an alt. Country style coming to the forefront surrounded by Tom Petty-esque vocals that wrap around you. As you move through the album this same mid-tempo style can be heard on cuts like the foot-tapping “Today” and “Days Long Gone.” However the majority of this album sees Gallardo focused on the more folk based singer/songwriter side to his sound. Cuts like album closer “Take Me Home” and “One Falls In, One Falls Out” sees him present an offering full of charm that presents a certain degree of rawness to his coffeehouse feel as he weaves his lyrics together capturing his emotion perfectly. As said earlier, there are plenty of influences that came into play for Gallardo’s new album and his ability to craft them all together to give listeners a raw and edgy feel wrapped around solid songwriting is simply amazing. This is an album full of very well crafted songs, both musically and lyrically, that encompasses enough variety to attract a wide range of listeners making this album well worth checking out for song lovers. - Jeff Kurtis of Today's Country Magazine

"Don Gallardo isn’t trying to reinvent country. He doesn’t have to. He writes a good song."

“Don Gallardo isn’t trying to reinvent country. He doesn’t have to. He writes a good song. These are songs if I heard them in a bar somewhere on a Friday night I might get a little emotional. There’s a feeling when I listen to these songs that wherever I am it’s home. These songs are mostly about locations and the weather. It’s cold outside right now, and there seems to be a little warm fireplace coming out of my stereo speakers.” - Billy's Bunker Music Reviews

Bio

Troubadour Don Gallardo had been playing up and down the Western Sates for close to 10 years before he packed whatever he could fit in his car and moved from Hollywood, CA (where he recently placed one of his songs in an upcoming Universal Pictures movie) to his new home in Nashville, TN.
Don Gallardo can be described as a Folk Rock Singer/Songwriter. A Music that combines: Rock, Folk, Indie, and American Roots all the way down to the last note with lyrics of love, small towns, the lonely highway, everyday life experiences, and making an honest living. Don Gallardo has a sound that is familiar but very original where you can sense a wide variety of influences.
For years, Don had been silently flying under the radar in different bands playing Bluegrass, Rock n’Roll, Rock, & Acoustic Solo shows. One of his favorite performances was an acoustic set opening for Rosanne Cash at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco. He drifted around California for years living north of Sacramento (Chico), San Francisco, Los Angeles and now feels like he really did find a home in Nashville.
Throughout his career Don has played on the same bill as Yonder Mountain String Band, Peter Rowan, Joe Craven, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Vinyl, Tim Bluhm (of Mother Hips), Legion of Mary (w/ Martin Fiero), Jolie Holland, Molly Hatchet, Rogue Wave, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, & Rosanne Cash (at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco)
