Bio
Donna was born to David and Bertha Parker, who Donna proclaims as the "greatest Parents in the World." Coming from a large family of Twelve children, ten sisters and two brothers Donna being the fourth youngest daughter can remember being active in church at a very early age (Gethsemane Baptist Church, Brooklyn New York).
Donna contributes her singing abilities as a gift from God, but the fine tuning of her gift and her showman ship first came from her Dad, who himself was an accomplished (Bass) singer, one that shared the stage with such greats as the gospel keynotes and Dorothy Norwood. Donna was inspired by watching her older sister Jean (Gwen) Jones work (sing) also credit Jean that flowed through Jean soon filled Donna as she together with Regina Benerd joined Jean and formed Sheer Elegance. Donna refers to advice Jean gave her and from time to time she can still hear her say "take singing as work, because that just what it is" and Donna has been working hard every since.
