Donna Angelle and the Zydeco Posse' are a hot Southwest Louisiana Zydeco band with soulful vibes and a lot of rhythm and grooves. They are well-known on the Zydeco circuit and have a strong fan base worldwide.

Biography

Born in a southwest Louisiana farming community, Donna's love of music began at a very young age. In elementary school she learned to play the clarinet which led to her playing other instruments. After performing in her high school band, Donna pursued a career in music.

Her musical style which lends itself to Rhythm and Blues, has been greatly influenced by many pop and R&B artists to include the late Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and a host of others.

As a band leader, she has fronted two bands, 'Chapter IV' and ' The Zydeco Posse.' She has performed with Louisiana favorites, Bobby Price, Barbara Lynn, Archie Bell and the Drells and has had the opportunity to open for many musical greats including the late King of Zydeco- Boozoo Chavis, the late Beau Jocque, Denise LaSalle, Charmaine Neville, Chubby Carrier and a host of others.

From promoters to fans, Donna earned the title, 'Zydeco Diva' because of her sophistication and professionalism. Always striving to perfect her craft, Donna is one of the hardest working musicians on the Zydeco scene. She plays seven (7) instruments and can play non-horn instruments and sing at the same time. The girl is bad!
