Donna Lisa’s album for children, “Toucan You Can,” received twenty national and international awards including, an iParenting Media Award, a National Parenting Publications Award and a Children’s Music Web Award. Kerianne Spellman, of the “The Westfield Leader” (of NJ) wrote. “I honestly can say that “Toucan You Can,” is one of the best children’s albums I have ever heard.” The album features playful songs about animals, places, and activities that intrigue children.

Donna Lisa has had considerable experience writing and performing for children. She was a noted children's songwriter in “The Songwriter’s Market.” Donna has performed in schools, libraries, shows and coffee houses, and she has received radio airplay. Two of her songs are currently under contract with the music licensing/publishing company, Noteborn Music. Piano Press has published two of her songs in their compilation song books. Recess Music and PARMA RECORDINGS will include one of Donna’s songs on their 2010 Earth Day compilation release.

Donna’s songs for children and adults were recognized in The 2012 International Song Contest, The 2011 Dallas Songwriters Contest and The 2010 Great American Song Contest. Donna’s song, “Toucan You Can,” was included on “Celebrate Earth” a 2010 release on Big Round Records.

Donna is the A&R Coordinator and a contributing songwriter on “Playful Journeys to Grow On,” a soon-to-be released, compilation, children’s album. This CD will feature a variety of children’s artists including Laurie Berkner, Raffi and others. The album will benefit disadvantaged children through the United Way.

Donna is also an award-winning, published writer of musical screenplays, teleplays and stories for children and families. Her scripts have received recognition in a variety of competitions such as, The 2012 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival, The 2011 Moondance International Film Festival, 2011 Kids First Film Festival and others, 2011 Script Vamp Short Screenplay Contest and many others. Chicago Script Works performed a reading of Donna's winning musical screenplay, "Kheng Kheng Crocodile."
