Donnie
Young brings a wide variety of musical styles to his solo act. Donnie is from
Memphis Tennessee which is home to great Blues, Country, and of course the King
of Rock and Roll. All of those styles show up in his solo and original work, as
well as doing some special arrangements of popular rock and pop songs. Being a
singer/songwriter he is influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Bruce
Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Roger Clyne among others. When playing solo he likes to rock things up a little bit with the use of a drum machine and a loop pedal. Perfect for small private functions or bar gigs, his presence and effects can quickly fill up a room sounding like more than just one musician on stage.
Donnie has also collaborated on stage with many musicians over the years and participated as part of a duet with various other artists. While performing with other musicians Donnie is adept at improvisation and adding guitar licks and harmonies.
