Bio

Donnie Mills has played guitar and sang since the age of 9, and has allowed time to perfect his style of guitar playing and smooth vocals into what is heard all over the Southeast. Listeners old and new are captivated by the way that Donnie takes a song and makes it his own with heartfelt delivery and with the sheer joy of being able to live his dreams through the music he plays. From Country and Classic Rock & Roll cover tunes to his own original songs, Donnie feels every song that he sings and transmits those feelings to all that listen and that is what keeps people coming back for more of this modern day troubadour.

Having 16 national releases to his credit, placing 2nd the the Gulf Coast Idol competition, 5th in the Austin Songwriting Contest, and being a 2 time winner for the Hank Williams Songwriting Contest (which he oversaw in 2005), Donnie is doing what Country Music Legend Larry Cordle (CMA Song of the Year with "Murder On Music Row", - "Mama Don"t Forget To Pray For Me"- by Diamond Rio) told him that he was meant to be doing.

Donnie is a regular at the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Flat Rock Music Festival held in Flat Rock, North Carolina, the Alabama Pecan Festival in Tillmans Corner AL, the Mississippi Pecan Festival, as well as Bayfest, the Mobile Alabama Music Festival. He has toured Texas,Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Georgia as well as Tennessee and Kentucky singing at festivals and a variety of small as well as large venues. In 2006 Donnie was asked to perform at Country music legend Merle Haggard's Birthday party at Threadgills in Austin TX.

Donnie was President and Coordinator of the Mobile chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Assn. of America in 2005 and has been a member since 1998. He has opened or shared the stage with FREEBO, Jim Photoglo, Robert McEntee and has worked with such writers as Steve Dorff, Barbara Cloyd and Buzz Cason.
