"...the sound is good and the production is well thought out with good sonic touches. nice straightforward melodic commercial alt rock. there are shades of Ryan Adams in the sound -- his more commercial stuff. Bridge reminds me of John Mayer a bit. You have a good voice, jumps strongly into the higher range -- enviable."
- dwyer222 from San Francisco, California on 14Dec2006

"Nice and clean production...beautiful melody. The singer is passionate and sings with confidence.Mood is excellent, kind of dreamy..the slightly overdriven guitar is perfect..also the solo (ebow ?) A radio-friendly song.Keep up the good work..an album of songs this good is a hit album!"

""Let Me In" Receives GarageBand.com Honors, Ranking & Awards!"

"Let Me In" has received several awards from GarageBand.com and is currently climbing the charts! Here are the honors received, as of 12/21/2006:

5 out of 5 Stars!!! (only given to the top 1%)

Featured Track of the Day on 26Dec2006 in Alternative Pop!

Active contest: #67 of 291 in Alternative Pop
All-time: #1,184 of 5,238 in Alternative Pop
Best #67 of 368 on 21Dec2006
Best Drums in Alternative Pop, week of 4Dec2006
Best Bass in Alternative Pop, week of 4Dec2006

Here are some quotes from the reviews that made these awards possible:

" I love the lyrics. They sound like the story of my 20's. In love and heartbroken. The lyrics are unique and stray from using the same cliche words and phrases heard in a lot of ballads. The mood of the song is perfect. The mood is set by the strong melodic guitars and keys. The sound is pretty unique...I like the feel and structure to the song. I especially like the unexpected banjo solo around 3:00. Very solid effort. Keep up the good work. I'm putting this song in my playlist, bro'."
- Cueball721 from Spring, Texas on 17Dec2006

"Nice smooth sound off the beginning...Vocals come in and establish a good feel. As the chorus sets in, I can hear a really good hook...I really like the lyrics. And the voice is totally within the singer's range, the high note really puts the lyrics forward and gives the frustration of the singer a placement. The rhythm and groove holds well, and keeps my interest. I really like the way the rhythm takes a new form at the bridge."
- Rahbil from Louisville, Kentucky on 17Dec2006

"This song is well crafted and I think the vocals and instruments are all performed quite well...I really did like the break down in the song--nice touch. I think this is a good band with good players and skill at song writing. I think the music is interesting."
- PufferFish from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 15Dec2006

"This song could fit perfectly into a movie soundtrack. Something like an independent film. The mood is awesome, you really feel inside the song while listening...when listening to the track, you can almost picture a scene from a movie. Very good, keep it up."
- uptownterminal from Deltona, Florida on 6Dec2006

" I like the build of the arrangement, and the parts have a subtlety that keeps you interested...This song to me is all about mood. I'd easily see this...in an episode of Scrubs, or Smallville or the like. I guess that says something about the sound, as well -- pensive, emotional...I think the track is also strongly engineered, and the mix sells the movement of the piece as the layers are added through the ending of the song...Well done."
- BuzzkillAllStar from Jersey City, New Jersey on 29Nov2006 - Donnie Schexnayder

Bio

Hey! I’m Donnie Schexnayder (that’s pronounced "Shecks-Nye-Der"…try it; it’s fun!). Some people would call me a computer geek and a wanna-be rock star. I have a question for you:

Q: What do you get when you mix technology, spirituality and cutting edge rock & roll?

A: A bad headache!

OK, not really. You get my special brand of alternative pop/rock that actually says something...a catchy, passionate musical combination that's engaging new listeners all over the Internet. But don’t take my word for it…check it out for yourself!

Here’s what you need to know about me: I was born and raised in South Louisiana & I grew up listening to all kinds of innovative music. I taught myself to play drums, guitar, bass and keyboards and started writing songs in my bedroom when I was only 10 years old. No, I didn’t stay there…I’ve been performing live ever since for small coffee shop crowds, gatherings of over 3,000 people and lots of places in between.

I just finished recording two singles with my producer, Michael Rossback (available for download at www.DonnieSchexnayder.com) and I’m currently finishing up songwriting for my independent debut CD release. Stay tuned for more info coming soon.

Great to meet you! Let’s keep in touch…

Peace,

Donnie
