DONNSUBI

Born and raised in Tanzania, East-Africa, Donnsubi has emerged to be one of the most promising artist/producer to come out of Australia music scene. He has a talent in incorporating different genres of music in the construction of his instrumentals thus allowing his music to appeal to a wide range of audience.

Early in his childhood, Donnsubi first embraced Hip-hop culture through break dancing and totally grasped the very essence of the dance. He gives credit to his late brother Mpoki for teaching him all he needed to know about the culture and through watching Yo MTV raps. During these early years of his life, he took it to the streets of Dar es Salaam winning challenges from house parties and club scenes. 


Until 1997, Donnsubi started recording briefly in the music classroom and boarding dormitory at Braeburn high school he attended in Nairobi, Kenya. In the high school years, the young Don hosted shows for his peers and studied drama to prefect his stage performance abilities. This proved to be a wonderful experience for him as an artist and it helped him gain confidence amongst many of his peers.

By the new millennium, Donnsubi had fully developed as an artist and performed at various venues around different cities in Alberta, Canada. During his time there, he recorded 2 mix tapes under the group called MP SoulJahz whose members went on to release solo materials in different parts of the world.

Currently, Donnsubi is producing records for many talented underground artists who are about to put their works out and at the same time he is recording his debut album in Perth, Australia. He comments, "I say, the world will embrace the works I'll put out there for a long time to come…as in next generations. I feel the album will surely prove this statement."
