Bio

Donny Yardas is a star and one of the artistes at the forefront of the new Dancehall Pop movement taking over radio waves and dance floors everywhere from NYC to London and Japan. With signature tunes such as “One For Me”, “Bullet” and “Nostrand & Maple” He gets the party started. Notable performances include Jamaica Day 2008; he performed live at the world famous New York City Sea Port where he was the opening act for Sean Kingston. Another Land Mark performance was at the 2009 ING New York City Marathon.
Donny Yardas had the streets buzzing in 2006 with his hit single Bullet featuring Mr. Easy, Noah wid di Powah & Ricky Blaze on the Wipe Out Riddim. A certified club banger with a grassroots buzz that started in the streets of Brooklyn, New York with the help of Steelie Bashment’s Waah Gwaan Radio. The Streets had spoken thus earning the single spins on Hot 97 and Power 105 the two top stations for Hip Hop & R&B in the New York Tri-State area. The momentum continued thru 2007 where Donny performed in packed dance clubs throughout the New York Tri-State area. Donny also graced the stage at The ING New York City Marathon then went on tour in the US Virgin Islands.

A native of Manchester, Jamaica. Donny’s love affair with reggae music began at an early age. He spun records from his father’s and uncle’s sound system before realizing that it was his destiny to rock crowds for a living. Although influenced by a versatile range of music legends such as Jimmy Cliff, Terror Fabulous, Super Cat, Notorious B.I.G and Air Supply, Donny has learned to formulate a unique style all his own. In 2001 he recorded with Article One productions out of Flatbush, Brooklyn under the name “Vengeance.” This was a great learning experience for the young artist as he recorded and performed alongside Brooklyn Legend Screechy Dan one of the founding members of the Ruff Entry crew, the same crew that launched the career of reggae super star Shaggy. The following year Donny decided to enroll himself into The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) where he majored in Computer Information Systems. He joined the Caribbean Students Association and toured the east coast’s college circuit, performing before packed college campuses. The experience was a great one, as it allowed him to sharpen his live performance skills. While in College he met Andre “BG” Lloyd of Beatz Galore Productions, with similar goals they joined forces and formed BG Yardas media which encompassed the BG Yardas Records label and GXTV, a public access and web based entertainment program. GXTV became very popular in the New York City area and is credited with being the first TV show to interview dancehall superstar Mavado. In November of 2007 BG Yardas Records independently released Donny’s self titled debut album. The album was not a huge commercial success but received great reviews for being innovative and fresh. Fan favorites on the album were cuts like the lead single “one for me” which featured Mr. Easy, “Nostrand and Maple” and “Your Eyez”.
Always the Evolver, Donny has launched his new company Celestial Tiger Records thru which he will release Reggae, Ska, Dancehall, Reggae flavored Dance and Electro Music recordings. Stay tuned via TigerMusicNow.Com the journey begins.
