Don Scribner, I Know The Devil (Ore Dock) Hot on the hands comes another home run in the country crowd from someone who's seen his share of living and isn't afraid to show it. Scribner wears his heart on his sleeve, allowing the years of lost and found love to shine through loud and clear. He's got a character-filled voice that comes from believing in what you're doing and a backing band that knows exactly what each song needs. These days, it's not easy guessing what style is in or out of favor in Nashville, but artists like Scribner have a way of blasting right past those concerns, reaching a place where real country lives, played for those who could care less about skin and trends. This is a lonesome sound and whether it will make a dent on Music Row or not is beside the point. I have just listened to "I Know The Devil" and was instantly thinking of just how lucky we are that we have this music in Melbourne Country. Don has brought a freshness back to the music that had seemed too lost under big black hats and fancy stage shows...

He is a wonderful lyricist and singer. The sheer essence of his music is what I always thought country music was and that is telling stories and tell stories he does. From one track to the next the interest grows as does the satisfaction and smile on the face with each and every song.

I played the cd numerous times and sat wondering why we haven't heard about Scribner and this incredible music.

“I know The Devil" I listened to this album several times and took the lyrics to follow the songs of Don. Every song is great and gives me pleasure. Last Thursday my listeners found the song "Big Fish" marvelous because everybody can reflect on his own life.

From the songs of Don you can understand that life's a struggle and Don brings his message to us in this marvelous album "I Know The Devil". Everybody should have this album in their music collection.

Don Scribner’s album, “I Know The Devil�, is an excellent piece of work. The 12 original songs are the inspiration of a multi-faceted life and one would expect something special with “I Know The Devil�. Scribner in no way disappoints. Though these performances are essentially of modern country there is a traditional morality throughout. Don is a fine vocalist who puts an authenticity into his delivery that leaves the listener truly believing in the songs. Recommending tracks to sample is extremely difficult for all 12 are first rate.
