dont die cindy

dont die cindy is a 5 piece musical project that never happens in real life. They made their start in 1997 and 98 as playing in different punk rock bands all the way up until 2003 when they joined together.

After punk rock was no longer appealing to front man Patrick Hosey, he left it behind in 2000 and started writing and recording more sincere music in a solo project entitled dont die cindy. Patrick traveled in search of musicians to accompany him, but after a year and a half of disappointment he was forced to pack up and come home. Luck would have it that right then was when Embraced, a melodic hardcore band on Theory 8 Records, who claimed long friends Jonathan Hoffman (Guitarist) and Steve Kopacz (Drummer) would call it quits. They then formed with Patrick and his newly found bassist, Ryan Nelson, to form something they've always wanted but could never achieve alone. About a month later Mike Andersen, a music major attending Gulf Coast Community College, joined the four completing dont die cindy.

The name dont die cindy originated from a documentary on the September 11th attacks of the World Trade Center. Their sound is both intoxicating and pleasing to the soul. No rules are forced on what is said in their songs. One thing you can always count on is the fact that this band will never compromise. dont die cindy will always be real.

The sound created by dont die cindy as the musical aspects are combined has yet to be heard before. Some have classified DDC as “Art Rock”. Others have labeled it as mature music, not claiming a particular genre title. There are a variety of artists that have influenced and are apparent in the sound of dont die cindy. A few of these artists or projects are Sarah Mcclachlan, Radiohead, Coldplay, Copeland, twothirtyeight, Die Radio Die, No Doubt, and Kenna. The goal of dont die cindy is to move listeners to another place, both through music and performance. So we invite you to come along and join the ride.
